New class. Please help evaluate and balance it.

Right, but a whole base class shouldn't be limited to one gender of one church of one god. If it hasn't got broad appeal it should be a prestige class, IMO.

New class. Please help evaluate and balance it.

I agree, in a way. A base class should be broad enough that it can include males, females, and all races. I think the class should be open to all good people. The actual order of Shitarra can be sexist - I don't mind that, and they can be the main ones to utilise the class. Just as long as...

    Races and Classes--I has it!

Types exist independent of class - you can get reptilian aberrations, mammalian aberrations, and so on. By the same token, I could say: dragonborn are humanoids, not reptiles. Yuan-ti, dragonborn and dragons have reptilian and mammalian features. Yuan-ti and dragonborn have breasts despite...

    Races and Classes--I has it!

No, the warlock article was published in October. It may have been written long before that - I know they did that for SW Saga (but those releases had to be okay-ed by Lucas Arts, so that might affect timing).

D&D 4E suggestions for 4e ideas easy enough to HR now?

The two alternatives I think are more probable are: 1) +1 to one stat at each level (we know the warlord's ability scores at 10th level from a playtest report, and they were 25 or 32 point buy [can't remember which] +1 ten times. 2) Ability modifier increases by +1 every even level, without...

Is All Still Quiet on the SRD Front?

I think the enthusiasm and excitement of Wizards for 4E is palpable and given the wide acceptance of SW Saga, ToB and MM5 - 4e's precursors - I doubt your suspicions very much. 4E might be a stinker, but I am 99% sure the design and development teams think it's awesome - and at this point, I do too.

D&D 4E suggestions for 4e ideas easy enough to HR now?

It's from Star Wars Saga. I'm not convinced 4e will implement something like that.

    Races and Classes--I has it!

Would you mind if LT scanned/photographed the image on page 25 of Races and Classes and posted it on the forum? That would probably be a better illustration than a miniature.

    Races and Classes--I has it!

Would it be possible to get a scan of a picture of a dragonborn so we know what they look like now? Or is that figure on the PH art indeed a dragonborn? Much appreciated, Bill.

My, how the adventures have changed...

Agreed. If you cut out the snark and the obvious fallacies (for example, the ritual healing circles and excessive magical items), and remember that the players don't need to know the names of the monsters, that is the best adventure so far.

Incompetent DM seeks help with powerful PC

Rogues do not have a mandatory alignment in 3rd edition.

    Stupid level question

'Class level' always means "total levels in the class this ability comes from". A fifth-level dragonslayer would gain +5 on damage rolls.

    Sense-of-Wonder Travel Campaign?

This thread has sparked some ideas in me for basing campaigns off the travels of Marco Polo, Around the World in 80 Days, and Journey to the Centre of the Earth. A mission to circumnavigate the Prime Material could be fantastic, although I don't think I'd give it a deadline.

Character assistance for a demonic infestation campaign

You probably know this, but remember you can't take a level in two prestige classes at the same time.

A very strange house rules thread

Druids use their potent combat skills to champion nature, and move quickly through natural terrain. Along with spells that restore vitality and turn plants into allies, they can converse with animals, and even call upon a wolf or other animal to aid them. Rangers are skilled hunters that focus...

A very strange house rules thread

Clerics can take up arms to defend their allies, heal the injured, terrify undead and remove fear. Clerics can take up arms to defend their allies, cause injury with the slightest touch, bolster undead and cause fear. Barbarians can move swiftly, enter a rage that makes them stronger and harder...

    Favored Enemy Undead, subtypes

I don't think it's a good idea to have (effectively) Weak Undead and Strong Undead as options, because if you choose the first your ability's useless at high levels and if you choose the latter your ability's useless at low levels. I do agree there should be around three categories: Incorporeal...

    Naming Fourth Edition

Midsummer's Night Dream might have unfriendly fairies, but they're still a joke. Save the town from the one they call... Mustardseed.

    Dragonborn/Tiefling- which campaign setting?

If the average mum lets her kids play with the dumb son of a raging bloodthirsty rapist orc, I don't think one with scales will be any worse.

Yakmen are called... wait for it... "yakfolk". In the MMII.
