I think initiative should be moved from Dexterity to Intelligence. That's a concrete, combat-based benefit for Int that makes as much sense as Intelligence adding to Reflex.

I wonder why this is. Malhavoc Press did it the other way around - releasing the pdf one month before the book. Perhaps Mongoose is doing it this way to discourage piracy.

It sounds like you want a prestige class (I assume this is for 3.5). I would base the class off the assassin - since that class has a spell list and high skills like your explorer. Have you checked out the horizon walker? Maybe you should check out the Planar Handbook and Manual of the Planes...
