D&D General Critical Role Investigation Into Complaint

I think having counsel involved indicates how seriously they know something like this is in the cancel culture era. Additionally, I think they have to do that in the case of slander. Finally, I think they are good people who don't want to treat someone poorly or set the accuser up for online...

    D&D 5E (2014) Orion Black No Longer a D&D Designer [UPDATED!]

And that attitude is why systemic racism has been the norm in the U.S. for 100 years. If people are getting murdered in the street still then whatever "solution" is meaningless. People of color have tried everything and they are still dying.

    D&D 5E (2014) Orion Black No Longer a D&D Designer [UPDATED!]

That is absolutely a possibility, however, when you have Anxiety you have to stop assuming you are the problem. If you don't you will constantly defend toxic people. I've been medicated for over 20 years and while that helps it would be great if insurance could provide Therapy and if the U.S...

    D&D 5E (2014) Orion Black No Longer a D&D Designer [UPDATED!]

"D&D takes what they want from marginalized people, give them scraps, and claim progress." "It's an exceptionally kind place on the D&D team. People are very nice to each other in a very genuine way that I truly enjoyed." Orion, as someone who has Anxiety you don't have to defend them. They...

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC's Jeremy Crawford Talks D&D Alignment Changes

Yeah, its take on Alignment was emphasized as the slaughter of a sacred cow. I think everybody who designed 5E had good intentions they just didn't expect the kind of runaway success early or how much Critical Role and shows like it would make D&D far easier to learn and accessible.

Crowdfunding News – Terra Oblivion, Ngolo Diaspora, and more

Egg, I don't think you should have to defend your decisions and am sorry that you have to. Good work, as always.

D&D 3.x Monsters in the Miniatures Handbook

I was shocked when I bought this and it was so darn cool. The title probably scared some buyers off.

D&D 5E (2014) 'The Thing' Inspired Rime of the Frostmaiden Has Player Secrets [Updated]

I think what concerns me is that they haven't released information about the climate change angle but have released info about this. Playing Betrayal At the House On the Hill or Betrayl at Baldur's Gate isn't something I really want in my D&D campaigns. We'll just have to see.

    D&D 5E (2014) New Statblocks for D&D's Kobolds

Something I think WotC needs to contemplate is for versions of certain races without sunlight sensitivity, especially if they want them to be playable. How many new players who come to the game from Drizz't's saga then have to deal with a more complex and less enjoyable option?

    D&D 5E (2014) Icewind Dale Dice

Two observations: More blue dice and these are only slightly more expensive as D&D Beyond's digital dice.

D&D General WotC’s Official Announcement About Diversity, Races, and D&D

This decision allows people to merely Gatekeep D&D in a new capacity. And they can't even see that because they are so busy giving themselves high fives while the groups they think they are protecting are getting murdered in the streets.

D&D General WotC’s Official Announcement About Diversity, Races, and D&D

Nope, just fed up. I"ve participated in marches against Police Brutality of People of Color in the last several weeks. From my perspective, if someone sees a Person of Color or any Human as an Orc or Drow or Gnoll then they have to be pretty darn racist. This is like asking "why they don't eat...

D&D General WotC’s Official Announcement About Diversity, Races, and D&D

Or...y'know...its a game of make-believe and...well...Orcs, Gnolls, Drow are merely the "bad guys" or "monsters" in a game that relies on imagination. What this does is paint people who play and use the traditional monsters...thats what they as "toxic" or that they have "regressive ideologies"...

D&D General WotC’s Official Announcement About Diversity, Races, and D&D

It's not like any other fantasy franchises, like say World of Warcraft or Dragon Age rely on cultural tropes...oh, wait.

D&D General WotC’s Official Announcement About Diversity, Races, and D&D

I guess all of the "Activists" online can pat themselves on the back as they "won a blow for civil rights". I continue to believe that People of Color have more pressing needs to fix, like not being murdered by the Police, but hey Geeks can feel good because they used their privilege to alter...

Role: A New Kind of Platform For The RPG Community – Interview with Logan Dwight (CEO)

There is nothing wrong with offering a differing experience, but I'd say Roll20 & Fantasy Grounds offer those maps and tactical options is because people want them. There has always been a disconnect between how successful D&D vs how successful all other RPGs are. Most people aren't really role...

Good for her and her husband and good for Jeff and Erik. Lisa has trailblazed quite a lot as a woman in our industry. While I'm not a customer of Paizo's I admire what they have done.

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC's Jeremy Crawford on D&D Races Going Forward

Of course, I see that but this isn't the time to worry about that because black people are getting murdered and it IS a conscious decision. Our systemic racism here in the U.S. makes their achievement that more important because of the challenges we've put in their way in the last 400 years...

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC's Jeremy Crawford on D&D Races Going Forward

No, I'm not missing the point. These subtleties may be applied to your game. Star Trek has had Evil with a captial E, the Borg, for instance. RPGs are a collaborative story and not a film or a book. There is a valid argument because I firmly believe that vast majority of players don't even...
