    Am I a Mean DM?

Not to be snarky, but: maybe the campaign isn't combat-heavy? Or maybe he doesn't use that standard "x encounters to gain a level" rule, which almost nobody (that I know) does? There's lots of perfectly good explanations as to why a group should still be low-level after 13 sessions. To the...

    Random Random Encounter Tables

I haven't gotten any use of Random Encounter tables as of yet. The reason is quite simple: they don't fit my style of DM'ing. I absolutely loathe "So, you're walking down the road, and suddenly, there is something standing in front of you *flips pages* uhm, yeah, a large red dragon!" moments...

    Favorite Complete Book

This is somewhat of a "no contest". Complete Warrior is my personal #1, for sheer usefulness. It's mostly got crunch that doesn't scream "abuse me!" when you first look at it. Tactical feats, gladitorial fights, some nice PrCs ... this one just tops the list. Also, it's really a book for...

Forgotten Realms and the Orcish Hordes

You'd have to contend with King Obould Many-Arrows first :D. What a battle.

    ATTN: Planewalker.com people

First impression: love those mirmir "characters". Especially the fiends *chuckle*. The only problem I had with this chapter was that Vecna's stay in Sigil is now treated as ... well ... "semi-canonical" (i.e. not quite the way it happened in the module, but also not completely ignoring DVD...

    ATTN: Planewalker.com people

Hmm. Strange. Contrast is much better with mine - the logo is almost transparent and blends with the background.

    ATTN: Planewalker.com people

Actually, I think it's great as-it-is. If you can't read it, why don't you just copy the text over to a *.doc file?

    Heidelberg D&D

Or you just might want to check out the various gaming stores in the area; they usually are full of gamer want ads ;).

Sarrukh (Creator Race), a weak monster?

I think they were errata'ed to a lower CR, 11 iirc. See the SK errata on the wizards homepage.

    "Plan A is a dog....What's your Plan B?"

:D I will tell my players that their plan is utter nonsense if and when that would be obvious to their characters (e.g. most, if not all TPK-worthy moments). But still, there are situations when I'm sitting behind my screen and getting a headache .. by just listening. Also, I've got a player...

Who Uses Music in their Game?

I definitely use music in my games, to the extent that every important PC / NPC / location / group has his, her or its own theme music. Those are interspersed with battle music and misc. ambient sounds. Works pretty well for my group, and it helps set the mood :).

    Shemeska's Planescape Storyhour (Updated 29 Jan 2014)

Sheer greatness. The Ebon is Macchiavelli in perfection. :)

    Knowledge[Local] : How Local?

As was already stated by several posters, I also use it in a way that it must be taken separately for each location the character wants to know about, e.g. Knowledge (Sigil), Knowledge (City of Brass) and so on. Everything else would reduce Bardic Knowledge to total uselessness (aside from being...

Are Your Games Rated G, PG, R, X, etc.?

I'm with Thanee (and a lot of others, it would seem ;)) - somewhere between R and NC-17 (when things get a little fiendish). But as always, the campaign is strongly based on the players' ability to handle subjects like violence, drugs etc. pp.

    Fiery Dragon's plans for 2005

What about a re-release of the original battlebox? Over here, in Germany, those (relatively) few that were shipped were sold out within minutes - I'd dearly love to get my hands on one of those.

Would you allow this paladin in your game? (new fiction added 11/11/08)

I would definitely allow it, because it finally is a paladin archetype with a twist, one that does not just play out the same stereotypes over and over again. A caveat would go with that, however: His attitude as described in the flavor text seems a little *too* flippant and 'unholier-than-thou'...

Enchantments and Bonus Types - stacking?

Thanks again :). This makes me think twice about Soulknifes in my campaign.
