Enchantments and Bonus Types - stacking?

Allright, reanjir, thanks a lot! Now, I've just got one question left: Does this make the whole 1d8+2 ignore DR/magic, or just 2 points of damage ignore it, while the 1d8 still fall under damage reduction rules? [edit]Thanks to you, too, Telperion. This would support the "all damage...

Enchantments and Bonus Types - stacking?

Hi all, there's a question that's been on my mind for a while now, and I hope there's someone on these boards who can help me come up with an answer :). Here goes: 1. Magic weapons with a +x enhancement (for example, a longsword +2) deal two different damage types: Slashing (the longsword) and...

Do you make your own adventures?

50/50 I, too, used to write everything myself, because published adventures seldom fit my group's playing style and characters, but it has become too time-consuming. Nowadays I use published stuff for the basic idea of how the adventure's gonna play out, and then modify it to my tastes, using...

    Hamunaptra errata

Thanks, Mouseferatu. I must admit I hadn't even noticed them :D.

    Do You Allow Evil PCs?

It's basically walking a fine line: If someone wants to play an evil character, I have no reason to deny him his request, if the character fulfills two prerequisites: First, he/she must really *play* in an evil style, not just "hey, my alignment says evil, so I've got an excuse to do anything I...

What are the canonical texts for the githyanki?

The PS Guide to the Astral Plane as well as the Planes of Chaos Boxed Set have the most detailed information, iirc.

    Fiends in Your Games

My campaign is a Planescape one: the fiends that make it into the storyline are almost exclusively of a scheming, manipulative sort (save for the cannon fodder, e.g. Dretches or the more straightforward, combat-oriented fiends). I'll not use one if I haven't found a reason as to why it is at its...

What are the best "fluff" PDFs or books?

I liked: - Sharn, City of Towers, as well as the Oathbound CS for excellent city portrayal - Stone to Steel (Atlas) for its historical overview - Hamunaptra (Green Ronin) for successfully implementing Egyptian Culture into a D&D setting without falling for the dangerous Trap of ShoeHorns :) -...

    Building a Better Tumble

That's what I'm using, too. Works out pretty well - those with a high tumble skill have an increased chance to succeed, but not vs. nimble opponents. Using BAB or attack rolls as opposing rolls seems too harsh to me.

    Hamunaptra: Egyptian Adventures

I just got my copy yesterday, after looking forward to it for a long time: kudos to you for designing a great product, which will probably see much use in my campaign. I especially liked the way you used the standard D&D races/classes within the "new" cultural context, as well as all the...

    Surprise round attacking from invisible?

I would rule, that, since the PCs are only aware of "something", but do not anticipate an immediate attack by an invisible opponent, they will not be able to raise their weapons / position their bodies in a way as to avoid an enemy striking them. They will only start to realize that there is...

    After action debriefings

Yep, we usually do, but it's more of a DM <-> player exchange, not so much the players discussing among themselves. That happens during the breaks :D.

    To Twist an Eladrin

Hey folks, for my current campaign, I am planning on putting the PCs up against a Firre Eladrin turned LE. I am somewhat at a loss, however, as to how to implement that "turning evil" into the creature's stats: I don't just want to replace his SA along the lines of Chaos with Law, Evil with...

Is Faction War a good adventure?

Its basic plotline is great, but at least IMC I had to make heavy alterations. Some parts, like the whole Yggdrasil thing, just didn't fit my group of players' style and/or alignment.

Need help from Planescape Fans Re: The Setting

re: 1) You won't have a problem - as long as your players understand what they're dealing with. If they have to upset a hamatula on the streets of Sigil while being 1st level - well, tough luck. But if you make it clear to them that there are bigger fish than them, and that they cannot fight...

    R.A. Salvatore - " The Two Swords"

I have to admit, that, while I liked the book, I was absolutely unhappy with the way it ended. This wasn't the promised "resolution" book at all, but rather an attempt to try and see how many new plotlines could be introduced over as few pages as possible. The second book in this (newest)...

Do you allow the Spiked Chain in 3.5 as-is?

There *are* no spiked chains. [edit]Except for Kytons, who are powergaming in that regard ;).
