Pathfinder 1E What's this I hear about a new Pathfinder setting?

Since that's rather OOC, I put my answer in spoiler tags. Three reasons, mainly: a) because I'm a completionist at heart - but see c), b) because the AP might reference the Tian Xia book for specific rules or mechanics, and even if I don't plan on running the AP, I will mine it for ideas, c)...

Pathfinder 1E What's this I hear about a new Pathfinder setting?

The Inner Sea World Guide will have a (at least partial) world map, as announced by James Jacobs: Until then, your best bet is the fan-made approximation found here. == With regard to Tian Xia, I actually hope that they will not go for a full 320pg. hardcover, but instead go with something...

    Dungeonaday.com

While my subscripton is no longer active, I believe that it is as follows: Super Genius Games (Hyrum Savage & friends) now 'run' the site with regards to updates and fleshing out content; however, they do so using preliminary notes that Monte had already sketched out in advance at the point...

    Backstory - How Not To

I guess that everyone agrees that PCs that have a reason to be involved in the story are a good thing. Still, I wonder how much of this debate in the end boils down to the level of motivation and/or the general disposition of your players? For example, in my campaign, I have one player that...

Pathfinder 1E [Pathfinder RPG] Adventures not set in Golarion

Re: adventures, you might want to check out Raging Swan's stuff (to be found here). Their adventures are easy to use and drop into the setting of your choice; all you would have to do are minor replacements (e.g.: switch generic god x for the god of your choice for your setting). Also, the...

    The Rise of Felskein [Completed]

Not only your imagination, steeldragons :D same thing happened to me. But I guess having an actual map will be invaluable to better picture the story on the second read-through. Iron Sky: Thanks for 'going all the way' with this - having a compiled PDF would be incredible, and I'll gladly wait...

Setting Junkies - How do you get your fix these days?

    What makes E6 "gritty"?

Silvercat, I'm not quite getting it. Can you provide a link for the "E# system" you mentioned? The only classification of adventures that I am aware of which already existed pre-4e was using abbreviations to indicate adventures that could be played in sequence. (You can see what I mean here.]...

    What makes E6 "gritty"?

I'll give this a try, Silvercat. I guess that the basic misunderstanding here is that you think adventure levels have anything to do with, for lack of a better term, the 'feel of an adventure'. They don't. The term 'level' basically is nothing but a measure of the player characters' power...

    Shadowrun War! "Arbeit Macht Frei!"

The review Dannyalcatraz refers to (which was originally posted here (scroll down)) is by the same reviewer who also tore the book apart on Paizo. Just saying, because ruemere's right. Unless someone confirms this, it's speculation (note that the review on Paizo seems to have been met with...

Rogue Design and Trapfinding: What do you think of these design choices?

With regard to 1., well, to each his own I guess. I've never had a problem with the Rogue's abilities. Regarding 2., I think that this is just part of the class design. If you want to go the way of the combat-effective rogue, the one who goes for all sneak attack, all the time, then you will...

    December: What are you reading?

I'm currently reading: - Warriors, the excellent George R.R. Martin/Gardner Dozois-edited collection of fantasy and sci-fi short stories. I'm just past the halfway mark, and can highly recommend this book. - Prince of Wolves, the first book in the new Pathfinder Tales series penned by Dave...

Rogue Design and Trapfinding: What do you think of these design choices?

The houserule our group uses is just to switch out a 'minor' ability of the character in question for Trapfinding. For example, with all races that get an automatic check to search for secret doors, we replace that ability (e.g. Stonecunning) with Trapfinding if the group is in need of a rogue...

    The Rise of Felskein [Completed]

Nice stuff. I guess I'll have to re-read it from the beginning now :D. Definitely makes it easier to picture the distances, political relations and such.

Years after completely ditching the system, WotC makes their move!

This may be slightly off topic, but since you appear knowledgeable in US IP matters: is there no way to forfeit a right through continued inaction? I'm asking because this is a valid legal construction under various European legal systems, provided that the court is sure the claimant either knew...

What Hooked You into the Genre?

First, The Hobbit hooked me as a child - I came to love fantastic stories. Then, there was the Warlock of Firetop Mountain, followed by the entire series of Fighting Fantasy books. A transition phase through MERP was directly followed by AD&D. It all went uphill from there :D.

Horn of Self-Tooting (from, Best 3pp products...)

Mark Chance: I hope you weren't talking about me in your post, as the situation you described is entirely different from the one in the original thread. If someone actually asks for product suggestions on a particular topic, I have no problem if someone 'toots their own horn', as pawsplay put...

Horn of Self-Tooting (from, Best 3pp products...)

pawsplay, I didn't want to single someone out publicly, so I sent you a PM. Lots of edits in the original thread, too. One thing, though: I would have had far less problems with the original thread if, say, a publisher would have found it within him-or herself to actually praise another...
