D&D 5E (2014) WotC Confirms Horror-themed Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden

What if Miniature Market is our local hobby shop? They have a retail store about 20 minutes away from me. It's basically my heaven. I'll second any and all recommendations to give them business. Everyone at the store is always friendly, helpful, and fun. In my few years since entering the...

D&D 5E (2014) New Charity Bundle for Red Nose Day now Available on DMs Guild!

You may want to clarify; this is NOT the full PDFs for each of those products. It's a single $5 PDF with some snippets from each of them.

D&D 5E (2014) WotC Confirms Horror-themed Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden

Have they said when the adventure takes place? I know the leak on the Portuguese site said 1450 DR, but I'd like to have that confirmed by someone at Wizards.

D&D 5E (2014) People didn't like the Psionic Talent Die

One aspect of 5e's success has been that players aren't required to buy multiple books. The PHB has everything a player needs to join a game, and everything else is gravy. I sincerely doubt WotC is dumb enough to go back to 4e's content model.

    D&D 5E (2014) How about Them Grung?

I haven't had the pleasure of playing or DMing one, but I adore the little guys. There's a whole jungle island in my world, where a military installation is located. The local inhabitants are tree-dwelling Grung. If I play my cards right, my players could potentially re-enact the ground portion...

D&D General Play the Solasta: Crown of the Magister Demo

I played the previous demo and had a lot of fun. Navigating the dungeon with the camera is a little clunky (though I did not play with camera settings so that might be on me). Controlling the party out of combat was not perfect, though I think it's more because 5es movement rules are hard to...

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC's Jeremy Crawford on D&D Races Going Forward

If I may, here's an example of why I think racial stereotyping shouldn't be excluded from D&D. This happened in my game yesterday. Long story short, my players' party were allied with soldiers from the main governing body to fight some oozes. The oozes came from experiments meant to end a...

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC's Jeremy Crawford on D&D Races Going Forward

I like having racial stereotypes in my games, because it provides opportunities for the players to examine their own prejudices when their characters find their stereotyping subverted by individuals that challenge the expected norm. I guess my fear here is that everything will be whitewashed...

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC's Jeremy Crawford on D&D Races Going Forward

You're kind of missing the point of good fantasy and science fiction stories. You can't watch Star Trek and pretend that an episode about removing an alien population from their planet, against their will, has nothing to do with European-descended Americans removing Native Americans from their...

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC's Jeremy Crawford on D&D Races Going Forward

I totally agree. That’s why I was saying in general. The base racial bonuses represent the physiological advantages one species has over the others. The stats that a player then buys into represent what their specific character has done with their life. So a Minotaur has an easier time getting...

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC's Jeremy Crawford on D&D Races Going Forward

There's certainly room for a discussion of problematic cultural stereotyping in the fantasy genre. And I'll be okay if we need to change the terminology we use. But I worry that there will be an overcorrection to just make everything unnecessarily homogenous. Just like in real life, the...

    D&D 5E (2014) November Title? Yes/no/what?

Technically, Theros is out in digital form. It's just not available in paper yet.

D&D 5E (2014) Is Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden the New D&D Adventure?

Tales from the Yawning Portal, Ghosts of Saltmarsh, and the Essentials Kit all fit that bill. I can understand the desire for more, but it's not like WotC has been doing only huge adventures the last few years.

D&D 5E (2014) Mythic Odysseys of Theros Reviews

I picked up the D&D Beyond version so I could get to the content for Hero Lab programming purposes, and have had the special cover version ordered from my FLGS since it was available. I kinda dig the Piety system. They built it into both the Supernatural Gifts and the artifacts, plus they even...
