D&D 5E (2014) Are proficiency swaps too strong for some races?

You can swap out armor or a weapon for a weapon or tool. In the example, an elf can swap a long sword for a tool as per page 8. So if a player playing an Elf martial character who already gains martial weapons through the class, can swap the 4 weapons (longsword, shortsword, shortbow, longbow)...

D&D 5E (2014) It's official, WOTC hates Rangers (Tasha's version of Favored Foe is GARBAGE)

Sorry, I looked at another post about damage, and obviously I just answered you and the other post together as I am completely focused....not.

D&D 5E (2014) It's official, WOTC hates Rangers (Tasha's version of Favored Foe is GARBAGE)

I should have clarified that I never had issue with damage output. It was the overall class features. The alternative to adding a core combat feature, why can’t you just use the example of the Paladin’s Improved Divine Smite. Take the subclass damage bonus at 3rd level that is applied once per...

D&D 5E (2014) It's official, WOTC hates Rangers (Tasha's version of Favored Foe is GARBAGE)

I think they need to focus less on damage (never had this issue) and more on features/abilities that an outdoorsperson should have. Swimming and climbing - every terrain have obstacles that require a Ranger to have both of these abilities. Expertise in survival and nature - they thought that was...

D&D 5E (2014) Which version of the Ranger?

It has features that are very specific. If you are a playing long campaign with different terrains and enemies, you have features and attain levels that offer nothing. This is the reason why this class has the most revision than any other class. There are many homebrews offered here, giantitp...

    D&D 5E (2014) Ranger Remastered - Warlock options

Some thoughts were expanding number creatures affected by Hunters Mark, Those are great ideas.

    D&D 5E (2014) Ranger Remastered - Warlock options

Because Search encompasses more than one ability check, it should be separated. My mistake. There should be an extra Talent at 2nd level to replace Spell casting. Never considered an extra 5th level talent. Good point. What would you suggest. I would consider a Feature that is fixed as...

    D&D 5E (2014) Ranger Remastered - Warlock options

Because Search encompasses more than one ability check, i think it should be separated. I think WoTC did the same for a rogue in Xanathar ( I’m in quarantine so no access to my books). Also tells the player the strength of the feature

Level Up (A5E) Which Classes Need "The Most Help" in an Advanced 5E

Ranger - the class resonates failure Sorcerer - few metamagic gained and selection times are far apart. Too few spells known. Sorcery points are the main focus/power of the class, much as Monks ki, but the pool is extremely limited and they are needed to regain spell slots, meta magic, and...

    D&D 5E (2014) Ranger Remastered - Warlock options

Search incorporates both perception and investigation checks. It’s separating them so it’s less overwhelming Perception bonus check is to spot/find your prey, especially if it has a bonus action to hide, and you still have an action. Survival allows you to track if your prey escapes

    D&D 5E (2014) Ranger Remastered - Warlock options

You would get talents at 9, 13, & 17. Also in the archetypes/conclaves, what we did was the bonus damage given at 3rd level is applicable to each attack at 11th level (as the paladin’s improved divine smite). It’s slightly less damage output compared to spells Ranger in the beginning but it...

We also play with our own Ranger version for since 5e came out. It’s not built on Warlock chassis, but we thought this would be a great option for all

    D&D 5E (2014) Ranger Remastered - Warlock options

https://www.gmbinder.com/share/-MAt0D4zRmt6Uga5MJS9 This class has the most revisions, many including similar features but gained at different times. Why not take a page from the Warlock’s Invocations and PF2. Their will be some who oppose such a chassis as it goes against the norm but it would...

    Level Up (A5E) Class redesign

Have all the classes resemble the Warlock’s Invocstions. At each level a player selects what feature(s) they would like their character to have, almost like PF2 but better.

Level Up (A5E) Where to put ability bonuses during character creation

Level Up (A5E) [+] What features should a "Advanced 5E" have?

Being able to customize a class ie offering multiple options, similar to pathfinder 2. And not have racial bonuses fixed. Have a flat bonus given and dispersed how the player wants or just increase all attributes by +1.
