    The Freeport Trilogy

With much thanks to Green Ronin and giving away this pdf on Talk Like a Pirate Day, my group has talked me into breaking from 2e to run this short campaign in 3.5. The players have generated characters and a Rogues Gallery will be up shortly. But we have: Al'Elronin - elf fighter, deadly with a...

D&D 4E Ok to have an opinion about 4E?

Nope, you cannot have an opinion about 4e until the book is released. That's what people kept telling my about the Book of Vile Darkness, which even after the book was released and I saw it I still knew it was crap.

D&D 4E Is 4E winning you or losing you?

It lost me too. The previews for 4e have done nothing to make me want to buy. I sold 100% of my 3.x books about 6 months ago and returned to 2e, which we were playing quite happily when 3e was announced. We're still happily playing 2e and I don't see that changing. Rolemaster Classic and the...

Starting a 1E campaign tomorrow, the Temple of Elemental Evil!

Dude, I'm jealous. Not extremely so as my group and I play 2nd edition. But I agree that the 1e ranger is the best for me. I use the ranger out of OSRIC so it's good.

New ways to generate ability scores.

From someone on ENWorld The one I've used lately was stolen from someone on ENWorld here, so if it's you, good job. We start with the elite array of 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8 arranged as desired. Then the player rolls 6d6. For each 1 rolled you add a +1 to str. For each 2 rolled you add a +1 to dex...

    Labyrinth Lord vs Basic Fantasy?

Labyrinth Lord more closely resembles BECMI with races as classes. BFRPG has halfling clerics, that sort of thing. I have them both and love them both. I'm going to run BFRPG when I take up the dming mantle again.

Quietly Back to the Past (in spirit)?

The "Points of Light" default setting has made me the most excited about 4e. I love the wild lands feel of it, the lawlessness. Color me impressed.

Castle & Crusades - who has tried it and not stuck with it?

2nd AD&D My group and I just went back to AD&D 2e and sold our C&C books. 2e was what we were familiar with and with house rules did everything we wanted from 3.x, so all's good.
