    PCs as dungeon inhabitants-seeking sourcebook

Thanks all. Probably not going to buy Reverse Dungeon (being AD&D), but might steal the concept. Anybody know of anything 3e along those lines, or is Reverse Dungeon the only one?

    WotC Warlock Invocations sources?

Ooh, neat concept with the swarm blast... what level of darkness was it? Might try to homebrew something similar, but don't plan on buying the book...

    PCs as dungeon inhabitants-seeking sourcebook

I know I've seen a sourcebook somewhere with rules for PCs as, rather than dungeon-raiders, dungeon inhabitants. Does anyone know what I am talking about, or, better yet, the name of said book and/or its publisher?

    WotC Warlock Invocations sources?

Ah. Still playing mostly 3.0 with 3.5 stuff thrown in when we like it better. About those homebrews... they were on the wizards boards and got archived, and I have been unable to find most of them. Got one, though. Bloodboiler Blast Dark, 7th Blast essence invocation Your blasts cause the...

Smallest rule, biggest change: Magic Edition

Give clerics d4 or d6 HD, 1/2 HD BaB, and light or no armor proficiencies. Because I don't recall Christian monks and priests of the Middle Ages being big into going forth in full plate with warhammers. The same would work for druids as the "guy who sits and talks to trees all day." Not much...

Smallest rule, biggest change: Magic Edition

Make specialist wizards matter. Evil spellcasting causes loss of sanity, gain of taint points, etc. Spellcasting in general causes nonlethal damage or fatigue. I like the idea for the constitution based sorc...

Why are Lycanthropes less virulent now?

Nyeshet: Nice! Might have to steal those ideas and start writing tables. I like that idea for lycantown too... Yeah, lycanthrope characters as-is are pretty broken... you don't really lose much. Although since the 3.5 update, they've gotten worse with the addition of the animal HD. Before...

    WotC Warlock Invocations sources?

There was also an invocation in the Dragon issue on the Far Realm. Pretty much confusion at will, with a several-round duration. I had some homebrew invocations, but I don't have access to them currently. I'll post them later today.

    Monk variant, balanced off warlock

The only thing I saw reading through the new pdf was that you had Empty Strike listed as a Perfect Strike on the list of strikes, but in its individual description it was listed as Waking. Otherwise, very nice. Better rules description than previously. The Extend Style feat is mildly...

    Monk variant, balanced off warlock

How does one utilize the augmentation? Just expend psionic focus? EDIT: Whoops, I guess I should have read both the PDFs before asking. Can you use a mantra at half your class level (to augment it) if you wouldn't normally be able to use it at half of your class level? I like this a lot...

    Classless D20/OGL systems?

D20 twilight is a homebrew point-buy system. Still a work in progress, and takes a long time to build characters, but highly customizeable. And they had an interesting magic system, but have since complicated it. http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/D20_twilight#1._D20_twilight:_basics

They're back: Return of the Slivers. [Updated 24/8-2005: Beware the Overlord!]

For those of you who don't want to go through and copy everything out of the individual posts, here's a compilation of the sliver stats Krishnath wrote, plus the Half-Sliver template. I think I may end up using these in my next SF campaign (when/if that happens). Because my players are already...

how to do mass/army battle quick?

Nobody's mentioned the Farland Mass Combat System yet. Google it, I don't have the link with me. It worked pretty well with calculating casualties, but it didn't integrate PCs well. Another thing you might look at on that scale is Fields of Blood. It does both realm building and mass combat...

    Useless Character combo?

Monk and druid lame ducks? I prefer monk, personally.... Consider the 20th level dwarven monk with permahaste 3.0 (Haste bracers of armor, defenders of the faith + Arms and Equipment Guide), with free trip attempt whenever he inflicted 10 or more points of damage with a single hit (Knockdown...

    Genetic Enhancements

Looks great. Except for the embryonic enhancements. Are these available to PCs? If so, when do they pay? And secondly, does an embryo with no class levels that relies on another organism for food and oxygen (and therefore probably doesn't have much of a constitution) stand much chance of...

    Getting rid of AoO-Good Idea?

Yeah, when I was learning, we didn't use them. We still have a former 1e and 2e player who doesn't like them (refers to them as owies because he claims they cause headaches). So we use them when we feel like it (some campaigns we don't, some we do). Haven't seen that much of an enjoyment or...

    3.0 haste

If 3.0 haste was awesome, haste armor from Defenders of the Faith was insane.... +4 AC and an extra partial action each round for +3 cost. Permanently. How'd you empower Time Stop? Thought it was a 9th level spell. I actually haven't seen much haste abuse (and I played a 3.0 12th level...

    Most Common House Rules

I completely forgot the no spell components rule; I've never used them. Expensive ones, maybe, but bat guano? Come on.... Yeah, the druid's lack of ranged weaponry didn't make a whole lot of sense, and neither did the presence of scimitar on the list. It's great for swashbuckling druids, but...

Faster feats - keeping them from getting out of hand

Yeah, metabreath, multiweapon fighting, ability focus, virulent poison, hurl limbs...anything from Savage Species or the dragon feats section of Draconomicon (or the other type books) should make PC shake in their boots...

Faster feats - keeping them from getting out of hand

That is true. One could apply it to monsters as well to keep it really balanced. Then again, the same could be said of any of the extra feat schemes listed here. Under those circumstances, any of them are balanced. How stupid of me to forget that.
