Can a sword and shield fighter make a natural weapon slam attack in the same round?

I don't think the SRD says what you think it says. If there's another relevant section, could you please point it out?

Can a sword and shield fighter make a natural weapon slam attack in the same round?

There are quite a few stat blocks for warforged in various products. Not one that I've seen includes a secondary slam attack, though several include a primary slam attack as an option. Now, this could be an error, but it's one hell of a consistent error if so.

    Healer Rogues (or Roguish Healers)

In Eberron, halflings of whatever class can pick up the mark of healing. Trouble is, this steals a rogues feats, which are precious to him. Other tricks - psionic classes can use a feat (Expanded Knowledge) to pick up Touch of Healing. Psionic rogue-ish classes include the Lurk (Complete Psion)...

    Items for the melee mage...

I'd second the +1 twilight mithral chain shirt. You may want to add Shadow or Silent moves to it also. As far as the party role goes, you're looking at being either the 4th frontliner in a group of 5 or shifting sideways into being the stealth/ambush guy - your wizard can do the latter fairly...

    A New Take on Metamagic

I think when you start changing systems, what is average changes. In 1st and 2nd ed, multiclassed elven magic users were common because single-classed magic users had a difficult time just surviving. In 3rd ed, single-classed magic users (wizards) are common again because they can survive...

    Triple Foul

So against a spellcaster that's a no save (well, barring a natural 20), no attack roll required crippling effect from a 4th level spell? Sounds like too much to me. With Fortitude negates it's still a very good 4th level spell. If you want a possibility of a partial effect I'd base it off the...

    Spiked Chain is unlike MOST

This is called a spinning sword. There's another wonky exotic weapon in that book, the hooked sword. If you spend an extra feat, you can join a couple of hooked swords together to make a temporary reach weapon.

Party Artificer Needs Help in Combat

Just something you may not have noticed - Armor infusion, greater. It's a 3rd level infusion which allows an artificer to emulate essentially any one armor enchantment. The DMG includes Etherealness, Heavy Fortification, Undead Controlling or, if he carries a spare shield or buckler, Reflecting...

What if China was a fantasy nation?

I think the celestial bureacracy works best when the empire's magics require resources, study etc. For this reason I'd say elf or grey elf, with their favoured class of Wizard. For the more martial magics, you want Tome of Battle: the Book of Nine Swords. I'd call it a must have. The only class...

    Using Scrolls while Invisible

From the description of the Invisibility sphere spell: The mass invisibility spell has the reverse wording but I'd reason that the difference is that the invisibility sphere spell creates one invisibility effect whereas the mass invisibility spell creates multiple effects. So, someone under...

    Alternate Totems for Dragon Shaman

The Shadow dragon shaman's breath weapon is possibly too much - do you think 1 level of energy drain / 2 HD damage would be better? A level of energy drain reduces your HP by 5 in addition to other nasty effects. Also, I think the dragon shaman shouldn't gain 5 HP for each energy level inflicted...

    Augment!

Or steal the warmage's class feature and add INT to damage with evocations?

Tell Me About the Warlock's Hideous Blow

Probably true & fair enough - but it's not that hard a check to make if the character has max concentration & has a few levels. Hideous blow stays a 1st level spell equivalent no matter what the level of the warlock.

    Core-Only Advice

Assassins don't necessarily need rings of invisibility or slippers of spider climb. They can cast both spells after all. For feats I'd pick up TWF (1st), Weapon finesse (3rd), silent spell (6th) and Improved TWF (9th). Low light or darkvision are too good for you to pass up, so no bonus feat...

    Core-Only Advice

Core-only, infiltration in a near war zone? Try a ranger. Tracking and sneaking will be useful - you can use both in a city, not just the wilderness - and in a city you may actually get some benefit from using the 2-weapon style (concealable weapons). Their spell list includes some useful though...

    Metamagic reduction

Artificers have no special ability to reduce the spell level increase from metamagic except for being able to craft metamagic rods or purchase Sudden metamagic feats as usual. They may be overpowered but they have no special relationship with metamagic as far as I know.

200 gnomes, in a boat, no wind. Help.

Change the nearby seawaters' flavour to blood. Shark's edible, isn't it? Though if the local sealife resembles typical D&D fantasy more than that of 13thC italy, this could just be a spectacular way to commit suicide.

    Sensory Feats

Have you considered a Horizon Walker? I know you said PrCs are iffy, but Horizon Walkers are Rangers with a twist (terrain mastery vs. favoured enemy). Also, they can get darkvision 60' (or 120' if you already have it) if they get underground terrain mastery.

How to handle my Campaign Setting

I don't think anything new for 3.5e will sell well once 4e hits the shelves. There will be a lot of secondhand 3.5e books depressing the market for 3.5e books at that point. If I'm right, you've got very little time to finish getting your setting ready for publishing, and then making back your...

Skills you can take 20 on...

I think because if you come up with a new use for a skill on the spur of the moment, it may actually be possible to take 20 on it. It's a general rule which you can use, not a specific one. Likewise if more new uses are defined in new supplements, e.g. the epic level book. Also, I still think...
