Combat Reflexes and a double weapon

    Exactly right.

I hid last round and now I want to attack...

The "only the first attack denies an opponent their dex" thing is just a house rule that a lot of people think makes sense. Personally, I don't know how you can say that's common sense and reconcile that with someone hitting you in the surprise round can still catching you flat-footed a full...

Combat Brute and Shock Trooper interaction?

Well, since the feat says "each square" then I'd say it's a +4 bonus since you moved him four squares. It doesn't say the movement has to be backward, nor does it count actual distance.

    What's up with shuriken?

It's not gamebreaking, you can't get 20 attacks in a round, even under 3.0 and you only throw 1 at a time in 3.5. You're looking at 6 attacks max either way, and you only make saves for each attack that does damage, not each shuriken. So at most 6 saves vs poison in either edition.

    Death and Spells.

Note: This is unfortunate if you happen to lob a fireball at the BBEG and accidentally knock an ally to -1 hp while he is invisible, only to find his body 9 minutes and 6 rounds later... :(

    Hiding fom Magic Missle

I'll try to answer the OP's question, rather than debating strategies to "beat" your players. No, the PC cannot be targetted while hidden. Targetting a creature requires "line of sight" and "line of effect." In other words, he has to know where the creature he's targetting is. If the PC is...

    What's up with shuriken?

60 Shurikens/3 per attack... hmmm... you have 20 attacks per round? :P

    Extra Dimentional vs. Non-Dimentional

Essentially the same thing. Skip has no problems with contradicting the rules, as he proves from time to time. You might very well be remembering Sage Advice.

    Domains and Changing Gods

It's not a matter of "allowing" it. The only domains a deity can grant are those listed. Mask simply cannot grant domains outside of his portfolio.

    Flaming whip

So, for those of you saying that because the description of a whip says it deals no damage to armored opponents, you must rule that the fire damage is non-lethal on unarmored opponents, right? I mean, for your arguments to be consistent, the whip text must overrule any all other text.

(BoVD) Whirlwind of Teeth... Holy Crap!

No, you've got it right. Two points: 1. BoVD and BoED spells are intentionally more powerful than Core spells. DMs should choose/allow things from either book very carefully. 2. The Gnoll is 15th level, there are much worse things he could be doing than this.

    Flaming whip

So whether or not we agree on what the RAW says, we'd both handle it the same way... I can live with that.

    Flaming whip

Beaten to it, Infiniti is exactly right. Nowhere does it say your weapon must deal damage in order for the flame to damage your opponents.

    Missing fingers and hand

I'm kind of curious. You've already made up rules to remove parts of the body, why not continue the trend and make up some for the penalties? You're obviously comfortable enough with houseruling, so go with the flow. :)

    How to stake a vampire?

You may as well rig a pit full of pungee stakes and put a banana peel in front of it... :P

    Flaming whip

I can't believe there is even an argument here... It doesn't matter whether your weapon deals damage or not. If your attack roll equals or exceeds your target's AC, they take 1d6 fire damage--even if it was a +1 Flaming Cotton Ball. The argument that a weapon must deal its own damage to deal...

    Throwing vs. Archery

/nitpick A Jai Alai ball couldn't begin its trajectory with a speed of 160mph. It would begin at 0mph and rapidly accelerate to 160mph. Just be sure that you used acceleration, gravity and arc in your distance calculations... /nitpick off

    Mnemonic Enhancer

Okay, that's a tricky one. I've never actually seen the spell used, but what I can gather is this. Prepare option. You cast this spell and it's duration is instantaneous, so you'd need to cast that right as you're about to prepare spells (after the 8 hours of rest). In this case, you can't use...

    Death due to stat loss.

Jcosby, I think you handled the situation perfectly, and it's always tough killing characters, especially when they're played by family members. Chances are though, at 9 years old he's not agonizing over it--so you shouldn't either. (Oh, and please don't use white font, a lot of folks use the...
