Which spell school should (Healing) spells be in?

Well, I guess I'll go through process of elimination: Divination...I don't think that even warrants explanation. Abjuration: it's not really protecting you as much as curing you so I don't think it'd be abjuration. Illusion: Well, it's not an illusion, it's pretty real. Enchantment: This...

    Epic druid

I believe the spellcaster really starts to come through, as epic spells are pretty good. Then again, I'm not really well versed with epic levels nor druids, so...

    Dark Druids

My advice is just be an evil druid that uses his druidic powers for evil. The blighter is also a good class. If you really want to make the class, I'd say just make as the druid class, but drop wild shape (one of their best abilities) in return for certain spell like abilities of some of the...

Aren't the prerequisites for Whirlwind Attack kinda.... odd?

Hmm, brings up thoguhts about grappling the wizard, and then if anyone tries to pull you off, you just whirlwind them all.

How good are the warlocks alternate abilities?

Glancing throughout CA, you can find some prestige classes that would really benefit and/or make the warlock really cool. As Eldritch Blast and the invocations improve with the "+to spellcasting level," that isn't a worry, but what I'm wondering is how much love do you guys have for the...

    Alternate Charisma Uses

I must be the only rogue in the world that takes constitution as a dump stat... Generally, like most other people said, it's more subjective rulings by the DM that makes charisma more powerful, but the more action points seems like a good idea.

    has anyone made these classes?

I've thought about making a Prince of Persia-ish PrC, but if you think about it, it just wouldn't be very cool. Apart from just being a fighting class with high ranks in jump, balance, climb, etc. for all the acrobatics, his abilities would have to do with the time abilities. These are slow...

    A new type of magic

it's neat, but you need a lot more limiting factors, with the current system, you could say with the fire power word that you deal 80000000000000000000000000000000d6 damage within a 70k mile radius. Sure you die, but I mean, KABOOM. Also, if you get 1/4 the healing you dish out, you can heal...

Michael's MtG Spell thread (last update: Blockbuster 3/7/7)

Isn't the ability to counter a 9th level spell and dealing it's caster damage automatically with a fifth level spell just a tad powerful?

    My Astral Plane

psionics have not been encountered, and I've allowed them to cross class in if they wanted for unkown reasons :uhoh: , but they can't start as psions and they haven't met any.

How have expanded Classes changed your Game World?

I have all of the main classes in my campaign, and generally I'll allow any prestige class that I judge to be "balanced." EDIT: whoops, hit the post button... Any PrCs that require certain organizations, I tweak to either be standalones or put an organization somewhere. There are...

Michael's MtG Spell thread (last update: Blockbuster 3/7/7)

on the contrary, this could be an excellent spell for a wizard. The sorcerers wouldn't pick it up, because they could easily just cast a fireball (10d6 as opposed to 6d6), but a wizard could prepare ALL utility, and then with this spell be able to convert those spells to damage if the need...

    Wizard spells per day variant?

hmm, giving them spontaneous casting but only spells once per day...sounds about balanced at first glance actually. You get a lot more versatility, but you also lose the ability to cast them more than once, and you can't cast nearly as much as the sorcerer.

    Preferances

I've had this problem so many times...then I did a complete makeover and chopped it down to a group of 3 friends plus me with a very deep yet easy to understand and interact in world. It's worked wonders...oh yeah, that and cutting off to play basket ball or go see a movie or somethign as soon...

    Handling Illusions and Spellcraft

So, if you saw a bear coming at you and your friend said "don't worry, it's an illusion. Trust me, I know these things." Would that stop you from running away? Granted, wizards do know about these things and DND is rife with Magic, but still, I believe people have to make the save for...

DMs - Moving characters a great distance

One of my one time things was this two-way portal that requires you to do seemingly meaningless things. The idea is that two locations are so similar that by performing certain actions you can connect to the other. It happens to be in two crypts about...700 miles away I think. Now the...

    My Astral Plane

I have thought about that a bit. There is huge trade between the landmasses, but in the case of prime material plane there are only two known portals. One connects to my equivalent of the underdark (controlled by the draw), and the other connects to "The Empire" which is a self sufficient...

Nice concept, but couldn't this get out of hand, giving you saveless disintegrations and such? Or am I misreading the spell?
