    My Astral Plane

I'm thinking for the substance, just make it strange stuff that people always see figures in whether there are actually things there or not. There'll be weird astral merfolk that can see through the silvery stuff, but for the most part, unless you use magic, you can't see through it. I'm also...

Check Out My PC PLayable Commoner!

hmm, it makes some interesting rules for the commoner, and definitely makes them better, but I'd still say they're a bit weak. No one really uses craft and proffession for the money (well, commoner's do, but I'l talking from a players point of view), the feats come at much less intervals than...

Michael's MtG Spell thread (last update: Blockbuster 3/7/7)

like tranquility + wind of decay Nice spell, and I don't think it could ever be used "brokenly" against powerful creatures, as the the spell you expend can't let it be that powerful, but it still has many uses. keep 'em comin :D Cheiromancer, I'd think it'd be the first case, just thinking...

    Making Kobolds Better

kobolds are meant to be that fodder that can be mean to the lower level characters, but once you get even moderately powerful, they stop being even something to notice. Unless you take the 100 kobold challenge: 100 kobolds scrounge up a few hundred gold, and dig a freaking huge cavernous...

Order of the Bow Initiate & Many Shot

I don't quite recall the reasoning, probably dealing with meshing the texts or something... but I believe the general consensus was "no." Sorry I couldn't be more specific :heh:.

When would you ever use Demoralize Opponent?

well, if you have to frontliners, cohorts, or whatever, just pump their intimidate. If you invest enough, intimidate can be hard to resist, so you could potentially just gang up on large bad guys and cause them to panick for easy pickings.

    An Item a day

I don't have any custom items, but neat work. Isn't the rapier's ability once per month of a first level spell make it pretty much just +1 rapier? :D

    Vow of Poverty

hmm, I've heard alot of annoyance with VoP on the boards, so I think I'd go with Rystil's argument. Any character can take a vow of poverty, but if you want to be so poor that you're magical, there are gonna be some annoying hoops to jump through :D . Then again, I don't know exactly what it...

    My Astral Plane

interesting ideas. Anyone got ideas for the silvery substance or the name?

    My Astral Plane

Kill an agent? Let's not keep it singular here :D . Summoning specific people is difficult I believe. But yes, they are of good alignment...at least none of them are evil (I believe both the figher and cleric are LG, the wizard may be TN or NG or something, I'm not quite sure :uhoh: )

    My Astral Plane

Alright guys, my characters are up at 9th-10th level, and they've pretty much mastered the whole "teleport around places, kill the bad guys, make powerful friends" shtick. One of them is in fact the king of a powerful city state, and another knows many powerful wizards and can call on favors...

    Fireballing dead bodies

As all the others have said, you did it right. It's the dangerous thing about evocations, and if one person is poorley equipped, that doesn't just ruin it for them, it ruins it for the party because they can't fight as effectively with that character not having his gear. I agree it makes them...

Michael's MtG Spell thread (last update: Blockbuster 3/7/7)

Are the colors sort of like the ones in the card game Magic: the Gathering? It seems similar. Anyways, great spells, for the leeches spell perhaps make it so that the con drain doesn't affect you for 1rd/caster level or something. That way it can be a sorcerer's rage sort of thing, where it's...

Ring of Sustenance and Growing Up

I guess this is one of those discussions that crops up every time D&D and science collide. I think the point of the ring is to allow someone to live and develope completely normally, just without the need to eat or drink. The pyschological affects can be argued (as we've seen these 3 pages :D...

Summon Undead errata (official or not)?

the t-rex's are nothing. Try 12 headed hydras as a third level spell ;) .

    Changing the paladin

remember the swords purpose is to kill evil, so he blackguard wouldn't be too happy. Plus I think I"d make a rule: something like "it loses it's intelligence 1 week per paladin level of its owner after the paladin dies"

    Does this work?

Just no damage reduction or fast heal, correct? As those would fall under "other abilities"

    Does this work?

Is this really obvious and I hadn't noticed it before, or is this completely wrong? A warlock 4/monk 1 could become an enlightened fist. With that couldn't he channel a hideous blow with arcane fist? Or does this not work because eldritch blast isn't a "spell" but an "invocation." Another...

Scrying with a target that teleports away

If they teleported, I'd say it moves towards them at 150ft. per round, it might take it a while, but it'll get there eventually. Same thing if they move faster, it just follows, even if it's being left in the dust. At least...that's my reading.
