[Not Suitable For Work] Build a Tiny Race: Final Builds

Two things stood out that I liked: the Dex link to Athletics and the glide. Any tiny creature who can't fly is going to do a lot of climbing and a lot of falling. And with the link to the treant, it adds a nice touch of mysticism overcoming the initial vision of playing a "squirrel." If there...

Better than cool. As long as I have it by Friday, that'll be great.

[Not Suitable For Work] Build a Tiny Race: Final Builds

And so we come to the end of our second NSFW exercise. Yet another forbidden rule of 4e has been broken and tiny creatures are now free to fly across dining room tables the world over. Nice work, everyone. I'll be including these submissions in the next issue of CA (releasing July 6th) and...

[Not Suitable For Work] Build a Tiny Race: Final Builds

And out of left field, we have a new entry. I really like the connection to treants - it adds a mythical element to them right off the bat. But I'll have to look at it in greater detail. Right now, I'm trying to LEAVE work, dammit, let alone slack off.

[Not Suitable For Work] Build a Tiny Race: Final Builds

True. I agree with the ability modifiers too, but I can't think of any group out there that hasn't taken some liberties with a race's modifiers before. Just look at the discussions on the revenant (WotC's version) and that's just one example right there.

How do you Build your Character?

I've just finished making up a new one (shifter barbarian/druid) that popped into my head a few weeks back. I always start by looking through classes, races, and other material to find some link or connection that would make that character stand out. For the shifter, par example, I figured with...

[Not Suitable For Work] Build a Tiny Race: Final Builds

Good stuff, 77IM, but I do wonder about the ability scores. When it all adds up, the pixie is left with an overall ability score modifier of 0 versus the +4 overall to two ability scores. I can understand the Strength penalty (not the Constitution so much), but what if they received a +4 in one...

D&D 5E (2014) [Not Suitable For Work] Recommendations for the Next Theme

Also very cool. We could probably come up with some crazy ones.

[Not Suitable For Work] Build a Tiny Race: Final Builds

chronoplasm: Picturing these guys gives me a smile and I'd love to see these guys in action some day. I do wonder how a player would be able to enjoy playing a character when another player is rolling the dice for him. Personally, I would allow the meecefolk player to make attack rolls using the...

[Not Suitable For Work] Build a Tiny Race: Final Builds

On that note, if anyone would like to provide additional text (physical descriptions, roleplaying/cultural notes), please feel free to do so. Nice work, malcolm_n. I particularly like the AC bonus when sharing the same square - makes sense and can be quite the boon for these guys.

    Combat Advantage 1: Power Knowledge

I'm going to provide a new article in Combat Advantage called "Take Two" that will offer replies, opinions, and alternate ideas for Power Knowledge. I would like to take the suggestions given here as alternate options for increasing a character's power selection or accept any direct submissions...

[Not Suitable For Work] Build a Tiny Race

The time has come. Time to provide your final builds using everything you've worked on or honed over these past three weeks. Here is the final thread for this month's theme and this has been loads of fun. If I didn't have my hopes set for a shifter barbarian/druid, I'd want to try one of these...

[Not Suitable For Work] Build a Tiny Race: Final Builds

Work is boring. Gaming is fun. Work should be more like gaming. Not Suitable For Work is a new addition to Combat Advantage, the free 4e series of PDFs from Emerald Press PDF Publishing. Every month will have a theme to which any number of brainstorming exercises will be made. Each week or so...

[Not Suitable For Work] Build a Tiny Race #3: Fight, Fight, Fight!

Not a problem, I'll consider what's on your wiki page as your full submission. Since I'm planning on including them all for the next issue of CA, do I have your permission to use it there?

D&D 5E (2014) [Not Suitable For Work] Recommendations for the Next Theme

I know this one in particular interests me and I've always been disappointed in monster PCs. That was one of the beauties of 3e and one of my players swears up and down by his minotaur. Still, I'm curious to see what they fix when the minotaur becomes an official race next year.

Nice unique class powers. Be the envy of every other barbarian in the group with giant slayer's rage!

D&D 5E (2014) [Not Suitable For Work] Recommendations for the Next Theme

Not Suitable For Work (NSFW) is a monthly series of exercises in 4e design sponsored by Emerald Press PDF Publishing. We come up with a theme every month and devise a series of exercises around it for anyone to post here on EN World (and we've also tried on our Facebook page, but no one seems...
