    Thats about it. It raises the spell to whatever level you Heighten it to. Better Dc's, gets by Minor Globe Invunability, certain monsters maybe immune to say 1st thru 5th level spells-so you can Heighten one to 6th and be able to effect them.

    Help on Tower Shields

    I agree just use the 3.5 rules for Tower shields. They give a +4 Shield bonus to Ac, but you get a -2 to hit while wielding one. If you decide to claim cover-you get 100%-but you CANNNOT attack at all then.

    Agreed-I have never understood why people think Heighten spell is used at +1 level at a time. You use it once, the cost is variable, depending how much you Heiten the spell.

    I think he wanted a continual spell turning item-Ring of spell turning isn't continual-its command activated. Granted you can activate it-it lasts 150 min. or until turns it spell levels, then you can reactivate it again. Continual Spell turning would be pretty expensive.
