Need input on multiclassing house rule

I would say no. PrCs can never be favored classes. OTOH, Force has a good idea - you shouldn't punish the players for choosing a class that fits their PCs' archetype.

    New Encumbrace Rule

Ever wondered exactly how many coins you could stuff into that belt pouch, or how much a portable hole really holds? Wonder no longer! I've come up with an elegant system for determining capacity based on the container's size and strength. I've been playing Oblivion for about a year and a half...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder overhaul suggestions, pt. 2

Yeah... having to check against all those spells, and recalc all those bonuses is a bit PITA. An area dispel, however, works against ONE spell per target - that seems to be something people forget. Once it dispels one effect, it stops working against that target. You could even have it work...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder overhaul suggestions, pt. 2

It's a good idea, but are you suggesting eliminating dispel et al as spells entirely? I.e., they can't be used for anything besides counterspelling? How would you dispel other things, then? Course, I don't really see dispel ever being used except in traps and combat, so the point might be moot...

    What's wrong with high-level/epic play?

That is a difficult problem to find a solution for. Pathfinder does something similar, except SoD spells like FoD deal hit point damage. Reaction to that "fix" is rather mixed - some people like it, and some think it's goofy. The rule I use is that a failed save = reduced to -1d4, -1d6, or -1d8...

    What's wrong with high-level/epic play?

This means we'll see it sometime around April. :p You should. All the others were free downloads; I didn't see why you were holding this one back for inclusion into Godsend.

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder overhaul suggestions, pt. 2

I suppose so... but the players in question wouldn't have built their characters like that if they didn't want to be thrust into that role.

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder overhaul suggestions, pt. 2

Yes and no. Imagine, if you will, a mage bad guy with a load of minions. The PC mage is in the back of the group, countering the bad guy's spells so the PC fighters/rogues can take care of the minions without the bad guy raining down spells on them. I've seen this in action, many times - I used...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder: How Should it Handle High Level Dependence on Magic Items, ie the "Big 6"

That's pretty much what I did - reduce the number of types of bonuses (I ditched alchemical and sacred/profane), then I adapted something RangerWickett came up with in the General RPG forum and refined it with a little help. This is the result: The end result is that only ONE type of bonus...

    Tell me about Undermountain

Yeah, it was 172 I meant. That's the one that had Skullport in it, too (which was later expanded into its own supplement, as someone mentioned). I think 227 was the one that mentioned the temple of Loviatar and such. And I have to agree with various other posters - UMT is best used as a toolkit...

    Epic Adventures (3PP or Otherwise)

For the 20th anniversary of D&D, Bruce Cordell (writing for TSR) wrote an adventure called Labyrinth of Madness. It's an awesome mod designed for a 20th level party, which (of course) features the number 20 prominently in its design - they have to find 20 symbols to progress through the dungeon...

    Death and Dying

This is almost exactly how I do it. My version goes something like this: 0 hit points, you're disabled. -1 hp, you're dying. at negative Con score (death threshold), you're dead. If you're dying, make a DC 10 Constitution check. If you succeed by 4 or less, there's no change. If you succeed...

    Tell me about Undermountain

Undermountain (the whole thing, not just the areas covered) consists of 9 main levels and something like 14 sublevels. Only 6 main levels and 3 sublevels were detailed, though Wizards did run a series of articles detailing single rooms. Several Dragon Magazines also had updates in the form of...

So we started a new campaign...

We did a short session yesterday, just wrapping up the adventure. The BBEG ended up being a redcap (evil fey, CR 3). As before, my wizard ran out of spells and was forced to get into melee - though the dice were rolling hot for us, and we handily beat the three thugs we were fighting. Not much...

    Combat rules: Need some opinions

Heh, sorry. That was me agreeing.

    Spell Resistance

I was thinking about this again last night, because I've been going over the epic magic items and I really want to get the new SR system in place. I came up with (I think) a much simpler, cleaner rule for this, incorporating a lot of what we've already done. There are four levels of SR: Minor...

    3.5 Character Generator?

A Google search for D&D generators turned up something called Role Playing Master right here on ENWorld. It looks to be really useful - resources for the DM and players (inc. PC generation), and totally customizable.

    Combat rules: Need some opinions

The penalties are straight from the PHB. If you've got, say, a marilith feinting against a human, common sense should come into play here - the marilith has likely fought many, many humanoid foes and would know how they react, so she'd suffer no penalty (or at best a reduced one). If it were a...

    Valuing feats

Oh yeah... I knew you'd done feats as they related to ECL, but I hadn't thought of using that system. I.e., a feat is 0.2 ECL. A skill point is 0.02 ECL, so it's 0.1 feat. I think that's the problem we (I and the other guy with the original idea) are having - we're using whole numbers for the...

    Pathfinder vs. 3.5?

KnightErrantJR posted some concerns and comments in his blog. It pretty well hits on what a lot of people are thinking, judging from the comments in the thread on the Paizo boards.
