    DDI vs WoW

Heck, we've run many campaigns just on AIM and it worked out great. I think technology is just going to make it easier and easier to find fellow gamers to play with. The main problem between the two is that with WOW you can always just jump in while with D&D there is usually an on-going...

D&D 4E The Search for a 4E Campaign Setting (Or the Creation there of...)

Personally I hated Blackthorn's reign, but could see much adventure there. I'd love to see a Brittania right before the first arrival of the avatar. Actually this is still my dream project. It is also why I hate EA with the passion of a million dying stars.

    D&D 4E 4e and Computer Games

My goodness! I'm not a huge fan of the tactical road 4 e is taking but I would so buy that. The Tactics games, especially FFT, are so awesome it's crazy. 4 E would be perfect for that and even as a doubter I would buy it in a minute.

    Possible Power Sources

4th Edition fan or no, I think we can all agree the Forsaken class is overpowered.

Richard Baker on Orcus and Deity Slaying

ASTROSLAM MMMMCMXXVIII - This year the Dead Dudes Orcus and Hades take on Team Lightning Zeus and Thor in an Admantite Cage Match hovering above the plane of Coordinate Opposition! The guest referee Asmodeus assures us that everything will be on the up and up and there is most certainly no...

    D&D 4E WotC Greg: 4E Campaign Report Part 2

That's what you get for wearing your cool leather duds. You need to let the tin can get up there and you get behind the monster. What rogue goes in straight? ;) As an aside, I'm glad to see they are really stretching the system to see how it works and hopefully where it breaks. Good Q&A is...

    D&D 4E WotC Greg: 4E Campaign Report Part 2

That's one of the few things I like about 4th Editions fluff. I always had that angels (or servitors as I called them to remove the 'good' connotations) served all of the gods. Some gods might have extra or separate servitors, but any god could have archons, planetars, etc. It took some...

    D&D 4E WotC Greg: 4E Campaign Report Part 2

I always just made the God of Death in my world very greedy. He wouldn't give souls back without a great price. In game terms if the PCs wanted to Raise Dead or Resurrect someone it generally involved doing a quest for that God's temple. I think each world should have its own Resurrection...

Richard Baker on Orcus and Deity Slaying

I like the idea of fighting Gods, but I'll still stick to the copout that these are just their avatars. To truly destroy a God would never involve direct combat for me, it would be a wild ride of a campaign though I bet. Oh, and everyone knows that Dagon is the real power of the demons. :)

Profecy of Priestess new blog entry

My characters often run before the battle even begins. They're smart that way.

    The State of Our Hobby

Personally I consider that and the mid-80s the Golden Ages of Gaming. There were so many games and so many companies producing extra material it was great. The OGL and d20 created a small renaissance of that, but we've yet to see those levels again. Heck if it wasn't for Marvel Super Heroes...

    D&D 4E 4E is like WoW (NOT!)

Like you I've played WoW and other MMOs for a long time and I agree that there are parallels. I just think people are missing the big picture here: pretty much all art is stolen. WoW stole from the earlier games which stole from D&D which stole from wargames which I'm sure stole ideas from...

What were the problems with 2nd ed?

They also had the nice optional rule that if you are healed while between -1 and -10 any healing only brings you up to 1 hp and you're useless the rest of the day. I love that rule, and I'm not being sarcastic. It made death's door much more feared and dangerous which I think it should be.

If anyone ever actually listens to your music you become a sell-out. Those are the kinds of rules I see at work here also. ;)

D&D 4E Keith Baker on 4E! (The Hellcow responds!)

I loved that module! I think it's a great idea. I just wonder how you'd do a 1e Cavalier with it, start at -3rd level?

D&D 4E Keith Baker on 4E! (The Hellcow responds!)

Don't tempt me! I love books as a by-product of my love of RPGs. I already have family trying to do interventions because of my filling my house with bookshelves. On the downside once I read that book I'll realize I'm just a statistic...

D&D 4E Wizards to run 4e Demos before June

    missing skills

Actually many of those crafts and knowledge skills found ways to be used in game. Even the ones people wouldn't think were useful. I'm not saying that everyone will find them useful, I do. I will put them back into the game when I run 4E.
