I think other posts above have really said what I've been feeling these last few weeks. I never play characters built with an eye toward combat, except for my fighters. Even then the last fighter I played had the main goal of getting as rich as possible to help save his hometown from poverty...

I'm starting a new campaign in my homebrew. Moving to a part of the world that I previously left empty to help explain some of the differences. I am already trying to figure out how to fit the new stuff I've read about into it. The main fun for me is the world-building, so I enjoy this.

Heck, for an actual D&D example, we have the Rhenee in Greyhawk. They also are a surly and suspicious lot, so we get the most negative gypsy stereotypes right out of the way.

Where's the option for "I'm a sucker for campaign settings and would probably buy from all sources above." That's where I fit in. I love books, I love maps, I have many campaign settings I've never used just to enjoy them.
