Food as a weapon.
how do people eat? how is food grown? where does it come from? how long are the growing seasons? are the plants sentient?
the smuggling idea can be used for this. so too can a soylent green campaign. or perhaps water world without the water. or road warrior/mad max.
i guess i didn't explain what i meant well enough.
in the previous editions encumbrance included more than just weight. so a sword was listed at a higher value than weight. it changed a little between 1ed and 2ed due to the shift from 10 coins / lb to 50 coins / lb.
but the numbers from 2ed to...
this is part of the concepts that linger from previous editions.
encumbrance is more than weight.
otherwise you end up with an elf carrying 40 full quivers of arrows and 12 bows.
edit: and still being able to fire multiple times.
Belkar also took a lvl of Barbarian. he is suffering an Xp penalty due to non favored class. mostly i think he took barbarian for the movement bonus and extra hps.
5. mechanics or concepts? if you find too many errors in mechanics or in the writing will you fault the submission?
6. are you in a long term relationship or a job which requires you to be on call or have little free time? how much time are you willing to spend to see this project to...
I love 2edD&D almost as much as OD&D(1974)
Holmes did a wonderful job of making the rules useable for play on a different level.
heck 3eD&D Holmes isn't much different.
