    D&D 5E (2014) 5E Player's Handbook owners: What's the current condition of your book's binding?

Agreed. I'd be much more likely to reply to a thread about the condition of my book if it was bad, than the reality, that my book (and every book I've seen) is in great condition.

    D&D 5E (2014) Custom dm's screen - HotDQ

I just paper-clip stat blocks to my DM Screen.

    D&D 5E (2014) Is this power gamey?

I would allow RE to keep the half-orc druid in beast form, and I wouldn't consider it "gamey" at all. I agree that it adds a nice flavor to the half-orc druid, and is definitely doesn't break anything.

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e XP Chart Progression Question

I just use "milestone experience" myself. At the end of an adventure (or episode of a campaign) the characters just level.

D&D 5E (2014) Anyone using software combat tracking with 5e?

I used to use the Combat Tracker from Fantasy Grounds II (VTT) at face-to-face games, because there were so many effects to track in 4E, and I could have prebuilt encounters. I decided to just go back to old school in 5E, and so now I'm just using a magnetic white board from GameMastery with...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5E Player's Handbook owners: What's the current condition of your book's binding?

Not only is my book holding up great, I even made a PDF of it (for my personal use, don't PM me about it, I won't respond) which entailed scanning every two-page spread on our enterprise MFP at work. I have literally pressed the book flat to a pane of glass on every page. There are 5 more PHBs...

Dragonqueen: A Tyranny of Dragons Campaign

The leather tunic Rhallick wore creaked softly as he leaned on the rickety wooden fence at the side of the road, listening to the many wagons of the caravan he'd signed on with moving slowly behind him, heading east towards the next town or village along the way. Beyond the fence stretched a...

Dragonqueen: A Tyranny of Dragons Campaign

For the typical people who moved about the bustling cobblestone paths of Waterdeep’s market district, the passing of a large, hunched humanoid in a tattered brown cloak was cause for little more than passing notice. Daichot was not a typical person, however, so he was watching the individual...

Dragonqueen: A Tyranny of Dragons Campaign

Prologue: Wispy trails of stinking, black smoke snaked up from the blurry gloom of a nameless village, traced back to a dozen smoldering fires across thatched roofs and overturned carts. A large, greasy feathered crow landed heavily on the corner of a taller building near the town’s center...

Dragonqueen: A Tyranny of Dragons Campaign

We started our 5E campaign this afternoon, and I'm so excited about it that I'm going to write a Story Hour for it. The last story I did was a long time ago when I wrote our 4E campaign. That story died because the game broke up (but not before I wrote a very long story), but I'm feeling...

[Kansas City] (D&D 5E) Players Wanted

DM and two existing players looking for more people for a new campaign with the new edition. All three of us are 30 to 40 years old, and plan to play every other weekend and a local game shop. PM me if interested, or request to join our Facebook group: Watch for Falling Meteors! I've been...

Blending 13th age backgrounds with D&D 5th proficiences

This won't help you right now, but supposedly the DMG will have optional rules for 13th Age style backgrounds.

D&D 5E (2014) Review of New Players Handbook Posted at Acts of Geek...

After getting the 13th Age Beastiary I want the 5E MM to be something on par with that book--but I know that's pretty unrealistic as it's hands down the best monster manual I've ever seen. I'm not saying the 5E MM is going to be sub-par (I'm really feeling optimistic about this edition), but...

    Rules Cyclopedia Weapon Mastery?

When I got the Master Set (Mentzer) I didn't have a D&D game going to use Weapon Mastery in, but then I switched from AD&D back to BECMI when the RC came out (I was about 17), and we used Weapon Mastery--and it was great. It fleshed out your character a little and gave you a little bit of...

Advanced Dungeons & Dragons and the original Basic D&D - your experiences?

Got the chicken pox in 4th grade; spent a week out of school with a baby sitter. Dad got me the Mentzer Red Box (the actual BECMI series was Mentzer) on Monday. Running that solo adventure I was instantly hooked. I DM'd the adventure from the DM Book so many times in my life, starting with my...

How do Skills work in 13th Age?

I guess heroes are as legendary as you want them to be. I wouldn't call our game epic by any means--but the characters are actual heroes, not just some random group that met in a tavern. Each of them came from somewhere and is going places. The first guy is a ranger ginsu build, and frankly...

How do Skills work in 13th Age?

I love Backgrounds so much... Assassin of the First Sword Enslaved Barbarian King Emissary of the High Druid Captain of the Dwarven Tunnel Rangers Child of a Demon Cult Leader That's the primary backgrounds of my group's party. When you add in their OUTs the story just writes itself...

    Virtual Tabletop software?

What I mean is that as a DM I have a bunch of icons on the right, labeled Story, Maps/Images, Encouters, Personalities (NPCs), and Items. After I build my adventure with these I can export it and have a module file that I can send to anyone that wants to use my adventure I created. While FG2...

    Virtual Tabletop software?

I haven't used MapTools to play or run a game; over a year ago I set it up and played around with the map/token manipulation, and it seemed pretty cool. But what makes FG2 awesome for me? - 3D animated dice - ruleset specific character sheet for many systems - DM...

    Virtual Tabletop software?

I use FG2 as well; I've been very happy with the interface and the wide array of rulesets and community support. I have set up MapTools and tested it out extensively, and it's a nice tabletop, especially when it comes to map/token manipulation. In the end I preferred the integrated, ruleset...
