Forced Movement - AKA Autowinning KotS (spoilers)

This is a creative comeback by the DM from a creative solution by the players!
  2. Q

Holy Symbols: are they God-specific? Can they be altered?

I have a few suggestions to chime in but after reading your OP and the answers that followed, I'm suspecting that I'll be talking out of context. So, to not make a fool out of myself, could you mention where was said treasure found (in a spoiler tag, of course)?

    D&D Setting Tolerances

I would be 'willing' to play all of the above (which is what I picked for the poll) just to try something new but it would take a good DM to keep me comfortable and stay in the campaign.

    [Board Games] Settlers of Catan

I only played the classical Catan once but absolutely love it. It's nice when you get to hoard a particular resource and become some sort of monopoly  We can't really find these interesting board games other than the staple monopoly and risk so it was really a blast to play this...

    Sons of Gruumsh module

My group got TPKed precisely because ONE of them lost an opposed Move Silently check against a roomful of orcs (the throne room to be exact) and kept running into different rooms filled with orcs. ;)

    Dungeon 156 Adventure Path Thread

On a side note, traffic in the forum must be really sky high. One afternoon, I was lurking in one thread on the 1st page, few hours later it was probably cluttered somewhere between 3rd of 4th page....

The Arcana Wiki - Distilling Real World information into gaming material

This wiki is awesome and sweet! Just what I needed when I picked up Dark Matter D20.

    No Flasks of Oil?

One of my friends mention that he found stats for oil in the DMG. Haven't been able to locate that though....

Forked Thread: Alignment *huh* What is it good for?

I should have added that the alignment system in 3.x was a more useful guide than the ones presented in 4e for a political campaign. However, I still wouldn't ditch alignment altogether in which case because I see it as a foundation or building block for the character's personality. For a...

Forked Thread: Alignment *huh* What is it good for?

    That's it, at least in 4E. ;)

    Cost of Core Books PDFs

So the pdfs as of now (July 13) are not errataed yet? :( (Sorry for the off topic, guys ;))
  13. Q

Which came first; the Story or the Stats?

Me too. As a DM, I usually make conceptual NPCs (while my players make crunchy PCs and whopp them shortly after). As a player, I usually make crunchy PCs (so I can whopp my DMs NPCs) ;)

    Making trouble for a womaniser

If something is done the first time, then it's creative ;) Contrary to causing trouble for this guy, I see the opportunity for a plot hook. One of the woman that he womanized comes down with a curse, incurable magical disease (or plague), a missing relative (long lost sister that he could end...

Forked Thread: Alignment *huh* What is it good for?

I was stating out the differences between the 2 systems and really wasn't intending to 'dump down' the 4E as being 'stupid'. Ultimately, the choice of which system to run with (or lack thereof) is up to the group and campaign style. If you wanted characters to be well developed from the...

Forked Thread: Alignment *huh* What is it good for?

In 3.x, alignment was a creative and immersive character building tool because of the two axis (law vs. chaos & good vs. evil) involve in determing your character's alignment. Neutral alignments could have been used for the undecided or players who didn't want their characters to stand in either...

(3.5) Campaigns I'd still like to play at some point

Let's see... ALL the APs ALL the Expedition series One campaign set in Dalelands, FR One campaign set in Silver Marches, FR An urban investigator/King's Citadel agents campaign set in Sharn, Eberron (inspired by Ghost in the Shell, Section 9) A wuxia-esque Book of Nine Swords campaign...

    Goblin Warrior's Mobile Ranged Attack

So the goblin may shift one square away from the PC with it's move action, use its Mobile Ranged Attack power to move 3 squares away (now being 4 squares away from the PC) and throw its javelin (Standard Action), all without provoking OA (and still have a Minor Action remaining)?

How do you think 4E will morph?

...and rules for minion creation too. ;)
