What does it take for an RPG to die?

Hey, me and my group played and ongoing game of World of Synnibarr. We had fun in spite of the game system, not because of it!

    Spoilers THUNDERBOLTS* (spoilers I guess?)

I still say it's worse, though that's only measuring the difference between nightmares. Cloak and Dagger anyone? And they had the show right there!

    Spoilers THUNDERBOLTS* (spoilers I guess?)

If it was anything like what we saw for Yelena, et al, it was much worse than the blip. With the blip, it was literally that- they were gone then they were back. They showed that several times. With this, they were in their worst nightmares. I'd think it would be much much worse and keep...

What does it take for an RPG to die?

    This? Or something else?

What does it take for an RPG to die?

No game is 'dead' as long as it's alive for someone, IMO. Now, it might be little heard of or very hard to obtain, but the thing about this particular medium is that it doesn't take much for a game to be played and enjoyed.

California bill (AB 412) would effectively ban open-source generative AI

The point is, you're only right about two of these. It does have experiences and these color the way that subsequent data is interpreted and contextualized, just as it does for us.

How Will The New Tariffs Affect TTRPG Prices?

They were already 20%, but I don't think there was a tolerance from the American people to raise it to 30%. That's nearing 1/3 of the price of goods.

    Spoilers THUNDERBOLTS* (spoilers I guess?)

I don't think that it is a monetary reliance - they rely on it for their tech, which they use to drive their economy. They don't export it, so not sure that other than it giving others the ability to start to try to catch up/keep up, that the idea would hold water. I like the angle that they...

How Will The New Tariffs Affect TTRPG Prices?

If you told people on March 31 that we'd have 30% tariffs on China in May, they would have reacted very poorly. This is still economically destructive and stupid (and ripe for corrupt exemptions). I used this method on my mother way back as a teenager if she was complaining about the volume...

How Will The New Tariffs Affect TTRPG Prices?

Oh... it's a 10% increase? That's not the way it's being reported, so that's good to know.

    Spoilers THUNDERBOLTS* (spoilers I guess?)

I think that BNW had a good movie in there- they should have just gone with less is more if they weren't going to go all the way. Sidewinder was a nothingburger and those parts pulled it down, for all that Giancarlo Esposito put into it. If there had been less with such a star they could have...

    Sinners (2025)

If you look on the multiple layers part, the epilogue is definitely needed. Think about the time that both said they were the happiest and what that meant? It needed to be said as a punctuation to the statement, IMO. There's a lot of commentary in the movie- some less subtle than others. And...

    Spoilers THUNDERBOLTS* (spoilers I guess?)

Much more recent, but also much less developed. I don't think she even had any lines in Black Widow. Also interesting that similar mechanisms (feelings) were used in this and BNW, but this one doesn't get the same hate for it.

California bill (AB 412) would effectively ban open-source generative AI

It indeed does. That's bias in the model, and it is a real thing. Not equating that to the rest of it- but just pointing out that this incorrect.

What Does the RPG Hobby Need Now?

To add to the nebulous nature of VTT being non-face-to-face, there are certain VTT applications that are meant to be used Face-to-Face and do not really support online play.

    Spoilers Daredevil: Born Again (Spoilers)

I don't think the answer is mundane vs not 'in-world'. It's mundane or not as it relates to the 'real world'. Neither is mundane realistically. In fact, I'd dare to say that none of what any of the protagonists do is mundane realistically.

What Does the RPG Hobby Need Now?

Isn't that back to that co-op that I still haven't heard anything about since someone proposed it on the first page? What would that entail? I mean, in all reality, most are struggling to survive, not compete. So if everyone gets together, then a rising tide raises all boats?

Google NotebookLM for RPGs - Making my own Virtual Campaign and DM assistant

I find more that it has problems because I haven't provided the context in my own sources, but I asked it a question assuming that contextualization was there. Or I was ambiguous on some relationship between sources, and it used the wrong one.

    Spoilers Daredevil: Born Again (Spoilers)

That's going to vary by user, and our need to adjust our suspenders is going to differ per consumer. For example, anything computer related I have to adjust my suspenders very tightly because all of it is just... wrong. And there wouldn't need to be many changes to make it better. But I get why...
