Keep on the Borderland and no healing...?

It's Old School. Character deaths are a thing.

Keep on the Borderland and no healing...?

In my Keep there's a cleric at the inn who will sell healing potions. He's actually a spy for the Caves of Chaos; the potions are poison which have been imbued with a magic aura. Edit: A party shouldn't necessarily hike back to the Keep to heal up. They should be setting up a camp nearby...

AD&D 1E Whatever happened to the 1E Iconics?

That may be the first (only?) one with a continuous existence across all editions. Wonder if we can't get someone to slip him into a 5.5E product.

I was always a fan of Beek Gwenders of Croodle.

AD&D 1E Whatever happened to the 1E Iconics?

I found myself wondering whatever happened to the likes of Aggro the Axe, Barjin, Blastum, Gutboy Barrelhouse, and the like. Have they popped up anywhere since?

D&D 5E (2024) WotC Invites You To Explore the World of Greyhawk

Just watched the WotC video on the Greyhawk setting in the DMG. Chris Perkins states that this is the first time a "campaign hub" has been detailed in a DMG. Isn't that not true? Wasn't Saltmarsh in an earlier DMG? A campaign hub doesn't need to be a mega-city like Greyhawk or Waterdeep to...

D&D 5E (2024) WotC Invites You To Explore the World of Greyhawk

I love OG Greyhawk ... great to see it back in the game! The Greyhawk hate in 4E was very disappointing.

What's the iconic Bond watch? (to you) [+]

Yeah, but a new Sub in the '50s ran about $150 US, which inflated to 2024 dollars is about $1,950 US today. So there's a 500% markup today for a used watch. Kind of crazy (but that's luxury goods for you).

What's the iconic Bond watch? (to you) [+]

It's funny how much things have changed, and not purely from inflation. Back in the '40s and '50s, Rolexes were pricey but still affordable watches, used by divers for their functionality and somewhat common in the military (to the point that there's an old 60s-70s-era Army joke that to be a...

Spoilers Rings of Power is back!

I'm watching at this point out of morbid curiosity. My spouse -- not a Tolkien fan who last saw LotR 20 years ago -- seems to enjoy it as generic fantasy. We just finished Episode 4, and the number of 'member berries caused me to realize that I think I know how the script was written: they fed...

The Legend of Vox Machina Free on YouTube for Limited Time

Hey, two Amazon fantasy shows. Seemed like an apt comparison. I bet they paid less for LoVM.

The Legend of Vox Machina Free on YouTube for Limited Time

Bad writing? The script and voice acting are far better than Rings of Power IMO.

Thanks for this! Didn't know about the series, and now I'm seven episodes in. Great to see some real D&D entertainment.

    Cards against Humanity sues SpaceX

IANAL ... Snarf?! Could CAH simply confiscate (and subsequently dispose of / destroy) the equipment that SpaceX has trespassed on their property? I mean, if it's a marked area that's mine, and you're not supposed to be there, and you throw trash on my property, it would seem like I should be...
