    Getting Rid of the Bard

Bardic Music as a feat! You'd have to be crazy NOT to take that. Seriously, that is WAY too much ability for one feat. You are adding a full, scalable class feature with one feat--and greatly changing the way your character works in the process. I think that the Bardic Music ability is...

    Player-Run Business

What is the business? Naturally, a player-run shoeshining operation is going to bring in quite a bit less than a high-level cleric specializing in resurrections. Obviously the crafting rules would be a good place to start here, or spellcasting service costs, but it is difficult to tell...

    Druid animal companions

It's not in the RAW, but I don't see why not. I would, however, require handle animal-based interactions with these animals. The thing about that is how animal HD compare with character levels. IMHO, HD=/=levels. I don't know if there is some kind of calculation for this, but level =...

    Druid animal companions

There's a PrC in Complete Warrior, Beastmaster, IIRC, that allows you to get more than one animal companion, each at -3 druid levels. You lose your druid casting, but I don't know how important that is to your build. You can always get pets. Just boost your handle animal skill and grab a Ring...

air elemental + call lightning = better lightning?

Seems to me like the bonus applies over an area. You don't have to be INSIDE a thunderstorm to get the bonus. The lightning originates in the whirlwind and shoots out. It's the clouds that produce it.

    Druid animal companions

Talk to your DM. The way that swarms are treated in the MM, you could just count a swarm of rats as a 4HD animal companion. It would take some modification and some house ruling, but I think it could be possible. I would allow it as a 4th level animal companion, that seems fairly balanced to me.

    Pinpointing area spells

My group doesn't usually allow input from other players on decisions like that. If the wizard is casting the spell, the wizard decides where it goes. In combat, the druid would not say, "hey aim that Fireball 5 feet to the north!" We can remind each other about rules: "That spell has a 25 ft...

How can I walk softly and carry a BIG sword?

Just play as a half giant. (Am I right on that, from the XPH?) They can wield large weapons with no penalty, IIRC.

    Weakest PrCs

The thing about PrCs is almost any one could be ridiculously over- or under-powered depending on the situation. Most PrCs are built to be situationally useful and usually gain great strength through specialization at the cost of versatility. However, I have to put my vote down for Metamind as...

    Kobold

Do you need an arcane spell caster for the utilty spells or are you in need of offensive spell casting? Either way I think sorcerer is a safe bet. Maybe not as powerful as some combinations, but definitely flavorful. I also think that a warlock is a good choice, but you won't get the utility...

How often do you provoke an AoO on purpose?

My current character is a mounted combat focused druid who will willingly take AoOs to cast spells or move into better position. Our cleric also left the group so the druid is now in charge of healing as well. Better to heal an ally in need than sit safely on the sidelines. However, I often...

Would the bard have been better off as a non spontaneous caster?

I think Bards are the definitive spontaneous casters. Removing this aspect would fundamentally change the class in a bad way. Remember, bards are trained in magic like wizards are. They learn to use magic by observation and by feel, not by readng spells out of books. If you want your...

    Feats for a druid?

Have you considered the Half-orc substitution levels in Races of Destiny. I can't remember the exact details, but your summons are boosted. Could be an worthwhile if you want to focus on summoning.

    Feats for a druid?

Improved natural attack from MM is killer for wildshaping. Spontaneous Healer and Augment Healing from CD if you want to go with Healing. Natural Spell is a must. Improved initiative is great, obviously.

    Mounted Casting

    Cool, thanks!!

    Mounted Casting

Frank-Sorry, the mount is a riding dog and his move speed is 40ft. Sorry for the confusion. Mvincent-Based on what you posted, if this spell is a healing spell, then it is possible. If it's an attack spell then no. Is that correct?

    Mounted Casting

A character can cast a spell while his/her mount is taking a double move if the character makes a successful Concentration check. True. Does this mean that character and mount can move a full 60 ft. (30ft. speed) and arrive at another PC to whom the character delivers a spell with a range of...

    [3.75] Fixing things: turning

Why not just have them stunned instead? The length of the stun could depend on HD. You could even take the direct damage deal out and just give low HD undead long stun times, basically allowing the party to coup d'grace them. Stronger undead would just be stunned for a round or two, giving...

    An unusual druid build.

A question for everyone: Does lion's pounce work when charging on the back of a mount???

    An unusual druid build.

Do you want an animal companion? I would say that eliminating wildshape and animal companion should get you the best BAB progression. This would give you spells and all the other druid abilities but full-on attack capabilities. I actually have a similar type character now. He is a halfling...
