    Just discovered Castles and Crusades

This right here. I'm an old timer and the Siege Engine wore me out. I just don't get it. So...I ignored it and just rolled normally. I'm open to suggestions to help me learn it. I'm seriously considering moving my 5E game to C&C. It's the only way I'm going to continue the game; really not a fan...

    Just discovered Castles and Crusades

I just went back to the C&C forums and found where I requested the starter pack for a game I demoed. That was in 2010! Can't believe it's been that long ago.

    Just discovered Castles and Crusades

Years ago, I ran a one-shot adventure for national gaming day (some time in June I think it was), and at that time C&C was promoting their latest edition heavily and offering a free "starter kit" to anyone who wanted to run a game. I signed up and they sent enough player's guides for all the...

    D&D General #Dungeon23

Here is my room for today; yesterday I created an interactive item (the fishing pole); today is a room. The room beyond the waterfall, complete with a fire ring, sleeping pallets, and footprints leading out into a "T" intersection. Tomorrow I'm going to do an inhabitant/NPC related to this small...

    D&D 5E (2014) Fantasy Appalachia

I was born and raised in southwest Virginia, spent many a day hiking the Trail...and could really care less about the pronunciation of the region. If it's going to be that big of a stink, don't even use the name. Change it to something else > The Mountains That Shall Not Be Named...or the like. :)

You're right. No need to be snarky or negative. My apologies. Moving forward.

Your maps don't have to look professional...like "cough" Dyson's "cough" :) Lord, have you seen my waterfall? :D Just put something on paper; start small. You got this Whiz!

Which notebook did you order? If you have some graph paper lying about (or really any kind of paper) you can jot something down and then enter it in your notebook later.

"shrug" Not cynical/bitter...just honest. This is supposed to be a fun exercise. If you're not having fun, then don't do it. Simple.

Ooh...forgot about wandering monsters. I may substitute a short list for one of my NPC/Monster days.

If you're already frustrated...it's only freaking day three. Do yourself (and your friends, colleagues, fellow forum posters) a favor and just stop now. No need to be whining about it going forward. Just...stop. Edit: My apologies for being negative. We all love this game and should support one...

    D&D General Dungeon23 Companion thread - Discussion

I can't remember where I found this, but I'm going to use this alternative schedule for #Dungeon23: Monday - Room description. Tuesday - Item description. Magic item, alien tech, something players will interact with. Wednesday - Room description. Thursday - Inhabitant description. Flesh out an...

Right now, it's so early I don't really need them. I have a few things in mind for the next month or so. I'm planning to incorporate a lot of old ideas from campaigns I ran in the late 90's and early 00's. I have three notebooks of gaming notes, NPC's, magic items, etc. ;)

My first entry in my new Hobonichi Weeks. Decided to start with the opening being a pool and waterfall. Very bare bones, but that's all I'm concerned about at this point. Will work on the room behind the waterfall this week.

I went down the rabbit hole for the Hobonichi Weeks...which I had never heard about until now. Thanks. Thanks a lot for that. No really ;)

Vote For The Most Anticipated RPG of 2023!

Voted for Labyrinth Lord (2E), but 13th Age keeps calling to me. Perhaps in 2023 I will take a chance and see if an "old dog" can learn a new system. :)

WotC WotC in a small decline as revenue drops by 16% as Hasbro shares hit a new 52-week low

No more 5E products for me. I'm going backwards ;) Love the POD modules and sourcebooks from DriveThru RPG and some of the newer retro adventures are pretty cool too. Like I said earlier, if there were never any more products, we'd be fine for ages.
