Thanks for taking the time to let us know about these things, Michael Morris. I, among many (I'm sure), appreciate your work. :)

Actually, the curly apostrophe (as auto-formatted by Word, for example), works just fine. It doesn't give the SQL error. My review on Erzsak's Drake Riders is full of 'em. So, if you're changing your apostrophe's to straight ones for posting the review, them's the problem. In other words, " ' "...

Erzsak’s Drake Riders is a PDF publication by Highmoon Media Productions. The publication includes ten pages of content (and one additional page for the OGL legal stuff). Written by Daniel M. Perez, and illustrated by Marcio Fiorito and Rick Hershey, Erzsak’s Drake Riders is a two-color book...

I get the same error as GlassJaw: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 're used to in Mutants & Masterminds books. Even the cove:1064 I am using Firefox as my browser, in case this makes a difference.

    Dragon/Dungeon Staff Hat Picture?

I really think "other" should be part of the poll. I mean, how else are we going to get James Jacobs on Erik Mona's lap, with both of them in a funny hat? That's something everyone wants to see, whether he admits it or not! In fact, maybe the picture should just be one big dogpile...with the...

    Thanks for these. Very enlightening.

    Why so anti-Palladium

    Why so anti-Palladium

A few persons have made vague statements about how the Kevin S. is a raving egomaniac. Can you provide some examples, links to examples, or some other kind of support for this assertion? I'm not suggesting anyone is lying; I'd just like to see the evidence and decide for myself. And what...

A love note to the editorial staff of Dungeon Magazine…

I submitted a creature Catalog article idea recently, but I was told to resubmit the same idea to Dragon. Should we be sending these queries to Dragon or Dungeon?

Do You Use the Core Pantheon?

I don't use (or like) Greyhawk. While I still could, I don't use the core gods, because I find them too simplistic and to have nothing in common with an actual religion (or set of religions). The Eberron take on religion is much closer to the type of thing I like. The real thing the core...

Positive Energy vs Negative Energy...good vs evil?

Right you are. Thanks for the correction--helps me learn, which is one of the reasons I post here! :) I should learn to read more thoroughly before shooting my mouth off. (Turning has never been a strong point of mine. It's not used much in my campaigns. I have to look up the rules almost every...

Positive Energy vs Negative Energy...good vs evil?

Not quite right. Channeling negative energy can be done by a neutral cleric serving a neutral deity (rebuke and command undead). This is evidence that channeling negative is not an evil act, in and of itself, as is the lack of the [Evil] descriptor on enervation and energy drain. These spells...

Positive Energy vs Negative Energy...good vs evil?

The problem here seems rooted in a few paradoxes in the rules. The spells for creating and/or animating dead are all of the [Evil] descriptor. This means, by letter of the rules, the spell detects as evil with a detect evil spell (and palading ability). It can be interpreted that casting such...

    Foes of Freedom

Foes of Freedom is the latest in Green Ronin's Mutants & Masterminds supplements, touted as a Freedom City sourcebook. It's a sturdy softcover with glossy, full-color covers and interior pages. Weighing in at 96 pages, all but seven of them filled with content, Foes of Freedom retails for...

    Dungeons of Doom

Dungeons of Doom is a 80-page book of maps for fantasy roleplaying. It's a perfect-bound volume with a color cover and a black-and-white interior. The inside is all illustrations-the maps-with the exceptions of the introduction, table of contents, and an ad on page 80 for The Black Company...

Libris Mortis - The Book of Undead

Giving all rights isn't unusual in the gaming industry, but it's not the general norm. Dragon offers the best chance for prestige and getting noticed, but organs (such as Pyramid) pay nearly the equivalent for only electronic rights. If they want to use it in print, they pay again.

    Alternative to XP expenditure?

If really you want to ditch XP and you want a cool story hitch, combine some of your ideas and the ideas of others here. Your ideas above still have XP costs, which isn't your true goal, right? For example: Magic Item Creation Any item requires power components (for the requisite spells or...

The Shining South & PC Races

The loxo still uses the "clan member" terminology. (I think one would be justified in applying this to allies, especially in the case of a single loxo in a multiracial party, but that's only how it would play in my own games, not necessarily the "official" word.) Other possible races include the...

The Shining South & PC Races

The book has plenty to sink your teeth into, if you're running a FR campaign. It does have the "iconic" thri-kreen weapons and rules that slot loxos and thri-kreen into FR nicely. For example, the loxos and thri-kreen have gods specific to FR and such things. They both have their own FR regions...
