I voted Bard because every 4 man group should already have a Cleric and a Paladin.

Tempest Cleric would be great and would be a lot of fun. Any Paladin is a huge boost to any group so can't go wrong there either. I feel like I say this all the time.

If you're DM is willing to let you have an improved familiar, that feat is absolutely worth it. If not, I wouldn't bother. The improved familiars are game breaking at times. Especially something like an Imp that can fly AND be invisible.
