    D&D 5E (2014) Low Charisma Lore Bard?

The character has a high Dex and Con and the durable feat. He'll be tough for sure but man he's gonna make a terrible Bard. Lol

    D&D 5E (2014) Low Charisma Lore Bard?

I checked the phb and I was wrong about your Charisma mod determining how many spells you get but I was right about it determining how many inspiration dice you can use per rest.

    D&D 5E (2014) Low Charisma Lore Bard?

But Charisma effects how many spells and inspiration dice he has too. It just seems like he wont have much to "do" BTW, this was my first post from mobile so I hope this is in the right forum. It's supposed to be in 5e. I can't even tell where it is lol.

    D&D 5E (2014) Low Charisma Lore Bard?

Is a 4th level Lore Bard with 12 Charisma completely useless? I'm thinking so. The flavor is there, he is a Goblin that thinks he's handsome and wants to be popular, but I just think he's gonna be a hindrance to the team.

    D&D 5E (2014) Adjuration Wizard + Magic Initiate Feat

I like guidance and Bless. I was thinking I could get some use out of Shield of Faith maybe and it would help recharge my Arcane Ward too. I would have never chosen this feat on purpose, but it was free so I won't complain. Just trying to figure out the best use of it.

    D&D 5E (2014) Adjuration Wizard + Magic Initiate Feat

What would be some good spells and cantrips to steal here? Character is at level 4 and has 18 in Int, 14 in Wis and Cha For the record, this feat was randomly gifted to me. I still got the +2 to Int at level 4.

D&D 5E (2014) Some guys want to run a campaign using a Sorcerer, Land Druid, Wizard, and Lore Bard only.

I am very much behind the idea of them running with a whole party of full casters. I think it'll be interesting. They're certainly going to excel in all out of combat situations. I'm just worried about their low AC and lack of HP. It was going to be a Sorcerer, Wizard, Bard, and Warlock, but I...

D&D 5E (2014) Some guys want to run a campaign using a Sorcerer, Land Druid, Wizard, and Lore Bard only.

No meat shield, no healer, no tank, no str character at all. How do you think this would go? I think it's an interesting idea, but it seems challenging to DM. I almost feel like I'd need to scale down combat oriented encounters especially at low levels.

    D&D 5E (2014) Running a 7-player group

You'll have to use TWO Pit Fiends instead of just one! haha

D&D 5E (2014) Air Elemental and the Gust of Wind spell

The air elemental has a laundry list of condition immunities so I figured it would be vulnerable to strong winds.

D&D 5E (2014) Air Elemental and the Gust of Wind spell

Yes it was mostly that the air elemental is mostly air that I thought it may have a harder time moving towards a Gust of Wind. Maybe I will just give it disadvantage on it's check to walk into the spell.

D&D 5E (2014) Air Elemental and the Gust of Wind spell

Would it/should it be possible for an air elemental to be able to move at all against the Gust of Wind spell? I'm thinking no, but according to RAW, it should still be able to move up to half it's speed.

    D&D 5E (2014) Building a better Ranger

I think the UA revised Ranger solved a lot of the issues the Ranger had. Beast Master is certainly a lot better for sure. Of course I could nitpick. I wish you had the option to make a second attack OR use the Beast's Coordinated attack. I think the Hunter archetype is incredibly strong...

D&D 5E (2014) FAMOUS LAST WORDS: "It wouldn't be here if we weren't supposed to fight it."

I think it's important for the players to know that there is always something bigger and badder than them and that fighting is not always the answer. You obviously have to be smart with it though. If the PCs are not meant to fight it, there obviously has to be other options. I had a 6 Int...

    D&D 5E (2014) [D&D 5th Edition] Best 50/50 multiclass?

Let's see..... Strongest 50/50 multi? Paladin/Bard or Paladin/Sorcerer or Paladin/Warlock Fighter 10/anything 10 Rogue 10/anything 10 Any combination of Fighter/Rogue/Ranger/Barbarian really would be really strong. Even a very stabby Dex Barb/Rogue. Of course anybody that takes 10 levels...

    D&D 5E (2014) Building a better Paladin

I think to make up for the Pally's lack of ranged attacks, they should be able to cast Chain Lightning at will starting at level 1

    D&D 5E (2014) Building a better Paladin

I think the Paladin is the most well balanced, and probably most powerful class in 5e. They're pretty much good at everything. They certainly don't need any more buffs anywhere. I'm playing a Paladin in two different campaigns. One spams Divine Smite and rarely casts any spell and the other...

D&D 5E (2014) Three level 7 PCs vs a Roc in an open field...

I got an idea that instead of the Roc flying away with one or more of the PCs and then dropping them to their death, which honestly would not be necessary considering how small the PCs are, it could take them back to it's nest to feed it's young which could be reskinned Giant Eagles. They could...

D&D 5E (2014) Three level 7 PCs vs a Roc in an open field...

I like the idea of numbing a talon instead of a stunning the whole bird. As mentioned before, this will never be an all out fight to the death. The Roc would hit and run only, and only use it's beak on an already grappled PC and only when the PC tries to break the grapple. I would also make it...

D&D 5E (2014) How valuable is the shield?

I never intended for this thread to turn into offense vs defense but I can see how we ended up here. I don't think picking up a shield is necessarily going to cripple every character offensively. The difference between the dueling fighting style and the GWM fighting style are not THAT great...
