How would you RP a Gnome Conquest Paladin?

How do you get the enemies to take him seriously? Obviously, race doesn't matter mechanically... I'm trying to imagine this little 3ft tall thing trying to strike fear in the hearts of enemies and the closest thing I can come up with is Chucky! ;) And I love the irony of a Conquest Kobold...

Does 1d12+5 for ability scores work OK?

I think I'm gonna go with 9d2 or 1d4+14 from now own ;)

How would you RP a Gnome Conquest Paladin?

I know the idea of a Gnome or Kobold Conquest Paladin is silly, but if you were to attempt it, how would you pull it off?

    Split personality build

I like the idea a lot, but unless you get some leeway from the DM, or are starting at higher levels, I think 3 classes would be too hard to pull off. It will either take too long to even get to the 3rd class/personality, or you start Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1/Warlock 1 and then be too far behind the...

Does 1d12+5 for ability scores work OK?

That's way too low. The most you could get would be 15 and the average would be less than 11 4d4+2 could work if you wanted to get fancy

Anybody actually play a Redemption Paladin?

I completely missed the "damage can't be reduced part some how so good call, and yes I agree about it not jiving with a typical party's methods which is why I made the thread. They seem like they'd be an annoying teammate to have other than the nice Auras, healing, and buffing they'd be capable of.

Does 1d12+5 for ability scores work OK?

I'm always up for trying new stat methods. I've done 2d6+6 before and it works out ok. Certainly better than 3d6 but not as good as 4d6 drop lowest. I've even done 3d6+6 drop lowest. 2d6+5 would be ok, but if you're wanting to hard cap starting stats at 17, it's not hard. I've done 4d6 drop...

Anybody actually play a Redemption Paladin?

Or seen one in play? Particularly at higher levels I think a Redemption Pally would be really interesting to play, but also have a hard time seeing how it would actually work in play. I particular love the capstone and how it works with it's level 7 Aura Emissary of Redemption - At...

    Revised Ranger update

I thought it was generally agreed that the UA Revised Ranger was a little OP. It doesn't surprise me at all that the Revised Beastmaster was one of the highest DPR character in the group.

D&D 5E (2014) Would You Rather Have a LE or CN party member?

I know it's a common theme for players to think they can label their character CN so they get get away with basically evil acts but I haven't seen much of this in actual play with one exception of a guy that claimed his War Cleric was CN but he played him obviously evil. This was this guy's...

    Revised Ranger update

I'm not one of the people that think the Revised Ranger is overpowered as in so strong it's broken and needs to be taken down a notch.... but I do think they went overboard "fixing" the phb Ranger and my biggest issue with the Revised version is how incredibly front loaded it is. They took...

    Here comes "Chaotic Wacky" ......again.

I had a player like that and it was disruptive. From his evil pacifist War Cleric with an 8 Dex but frequently used a Longbow, to his weird Monk character that liked to do his own thing most of the time instead of participating with the group, to his "redneck" Lizardfolk Ranger that was an...

What are the best feats to pick for my Human Assassin build?

Not arguing RAW here, but this is not how me and anybody I've played with have played. A surprise round has always been basically a free turn before initiative is rolled. That is assuming the deception check is passed. This way, whether RAW or not, makes already hard surprise rounds even harder...

    New Fighting Style: Swift Striker

I like it, but in some cases it's really strong. Shillelagh comes to mind with the club getting an extra 1d8+Wis attack on a character that's going to have a high Wis. A Gloom Stalker would get 3(or 4 with offhand) attacks at level 3 on their first turn since they already get a free extra...

What are the best feats to pick for my Human Assassin build?

I'd go Battle Master Fighter, wear Breastplate with the Defense Style. Take Charlatan, Actor, Diplomat, and Silver-Tongued feats. Take 1 level of Great Old One Warlock for telepathy, and Mask of Many Faces. = Profit Maybe even take Inspiring Leader at some point in the future. You could end up...

What are the best feats to pick for my Human Assassin build?

Alert all the way, but I'd be worried about your terrible. Moderately Armored may be your best friend. It will round out your Str score too. 1-3 of Warlock would be great to get some face invocations like Mask of Many Faces. Hex could get you medium armor and expanded crit range too. Chain...

    D&D 5E (2014) 4d6 Messed Up Party Composition?

Well at least 1-4 is when TWF is probably strongest. From my experiences, high rolled stats don't really change character makeup too much. Really it just opens up a surplus of feats that players like, but normally wouldn't take like Mobile, Alert, Lucky, etc... Or normally overly complicated...

A level 20 Wizard of each school vs each other in combat

Well I'm not at all surprised that "Whoever wins Initiative" is winning because honestly it's probably the best answer. It kinda defeats the purpose of this activity though so I wish I would have left it out. The results are about what I expected though.
