A Robe of the Archmagi might not be a bad buy - use the rules in the Magic Item Compendium to give it a +6 bonus to Charisma as well. I'll also agree with the Metamagic Rods. Quicken is ideal. Maximized or Empowered would be good, too. -Stuart

I second the Warblade option. (I'm actually playing a Warblade with a couple of Bard levels now.) The White Raven martial school is great for bards. There's also a feat that will allow your Bard and Warblade levels to stack for Inspire Courage - and, I think, allow you to use Bardic Music in...

I'd go for breadth: 2 levels each of Barbarian, Ranger, Scout, and Fighter. Then add an extra level to any/all of the first three you want... and advance from there as a Fighter. -Stuart
