Survival tips for Green Star Adepts

The big question is what will your build going into GSA be? Warmage might be good... particularly since GSAs don't lose caster levels (you won't have the highest level artillery spells, but the ones you have will be effective)... and the GSA's benefits would compensate for the Warmage's primary...

need a more powerful elven race

Didn't think of this before, but one thing that I've seen done is make all elves gestalt characters... gestalt bards, to be exact. A gestalt bard isn't usually that great (since bards are more well-rounded), but it means that elves will be at least competent in melee, magic, and skills... and...

List of "gish" classes and PrCs?

I'd put bard on the list. I'd probably remove Warmage (they can cast in armor, but their BAB, HD, and weapon proficiency don't say "gish"). I'd put Spellthief and Beguiler on the list before them... Others? Assassin Enlightened Fist Green Star Adept Havoc Mage Mindspy Raumathari battlemage...

Repel Metal or Stone at will. Quicken Spell-like ability (Repel Metal or Stone). (also note complementary at-will abilities: wall of iron, wall of stone, stone shape, etc.) Greater Invisibility+Incorporeality+Fast Healing Telepathy with a 5 mile range and: Diplomacy+32, Intimidate+30, Sense...

Excerpts from Worlds and Monsters at Wizards

I totally just posted about this in my blog . Synopsis: I think the answer lies not in giving big monsters more attacks (big monsters are super-fast?), but in making them harder to fight in other ways. -Stuart

    Dragon Shaman Question

If you aren't interested in auras, don't play a Dragon Shaman. Play a Duskblade/Dragon Disciple instead. -Stuart

    Dragon Shaman Question

I wonder how Dragon Shaman X/Knight 3/Fighter 2 would work out... Fighting Challenge is nice for a Dragon Shaman and Bulwark of Defense is great for any tank. The d12 for hit points doesn't hurt either... Honestly, though, Paladin would work really well, too. Great charisma synergy. That's...

So I've hit the damage roadblock on an Archer

It would be nice, but the spell description for bless weapon says that it doesn't confer the benefits to projectiles when used on a bow/sling/whatever. -Stuart

So I've hit the damage roadblock on an Archer

Right. So a +1 flaming longbow with a +1 bane arrow used against the bane-creature will be +3 to hit and +3d6 damage. Not bad, particularly when you can use them only when they'll be effective... -Stuart

    Building a *Weaker* Dragon

Say that it has abyssmally low Charisma, thus reducing its spellcasting ability and Frightful Presence DC. -Stuart

So I've hit the damage roadblock on an Archer

Yeah. I said it wasn't financially efficient... -Stuart

    PH2: Immediate Magic

Actually, many of those abilities stay good forever... some of them, depending on your build, can just get better and better... -Stuart

So I've hit the damage roadblock on an Archer

Magic arrows may not be the most financially efficient method of getting damage, but they are effective. If your DM will let you split up a 50-pack, getting 5 sets of 10 +1 bane arrows against various creature types isn't a bad deal at all. -Stuart

So I've hit the damage roadblock on an Archer

Where is your current damage coming from? Knowing that would help us come up with alternate sources. What sort of bow are you currently using? Remember that energy damage (flaming, cold, acid, sonic, etc.) bypasses DR. -Stuart

    Gestalt Paladin/Sorc Build Help

Gestalt Paladin/Sorcerer is trickier than it sounds. What will you do in combat? Cast spells? Enter melee? You probably won't do both. To be most effective, you'll want to figure out your role and build yourself around that. Two (out of several) possibilities: 1) Magical Paladin - emphasize...

    Starting a Gestalt Campaign.

There's MAD... and then there's MAD. I agree, two spellcasting classes with different casting attributes is probably a bad idea. On the other hand, something like Fighter (which usually needs good S/D/C) is just fine in a gestalt with Wizard or whatever... as long as you concentrate your...
