    Squared FireBalls?

I've been in those arguments. Between that and "nudging" I am completely soured on the idea of a gridless map in D&D.

    D&D 4E Weapon variety in 4E

I don't care for special arrows, I like generic ones. Yeah, they are cool in concept and realistic, but what happens is that they become the default arrow if they have any special advantage (e.g. piercing armor), so why not just assume that all arrows are bodkins?

    D&D 4E Weapon variety in 4E

You lost us at "my." Your experience with T'ai Chi has very little to do with how fantasy warriors train.

    Swallow Whole?

I like the "puke" option...after enough irritation the t-rex or whatever barfs the victim up... preferably right on top of the halfling rogue. Because flies are icky! How many flies do you want to hold in your stomach?

    D&D 4E The Blood War in 4E?

Same here. I put "Demons vs. Devils" in the same tired cliche as "Vampires vs. Werewolves" and "Pirates vs. Ninjas." I felt that it adds nothing the players' experience in the game, and also restricts the DM.

    New Mindflayer Info

Not to mention stunned means you drop whatever is in your hands. Many a DM has done the dirty trick of having the mind flayer stun the party and then send in thralls to take away their weapons. Head On. Apply directly to the forehead.

Loss of Innate Spellcasting (or 'How Dragons Build Lairs')

And oddly enough, some people find the mythic tradition of solitary, asocial dragons a compelling narrative. It's easier to stat up dragons as non spellcasters and add spellcasting in if needed rather than the other way around.

Loss of Innate Spellcasting (or 'How Dragons Build Lairs')

Hear hear! I am so tired of super smart uber mastermind dragons. Heck, I'd rather have unintelligent dragons... maybe cunning, but a bestial cunning, not evil genius cunning. It seems that just about every monster in D&D gets the "evil genius upgrade." Even Kobolds, once a minor threat, have...

    New Warlock Pacts

The most important one: a pact with the DM. "If I bring extra Doritos to the game, can I have the ability to fly?"

    Dragonborn: Boobs or No Boobs?

I say dragons and dragonborn are primarily reptilian, therefore no boobs. And for the males, two penises! Obviously someone is afraid of hooking up with a dragonborn of ambiguous sex.

    DRAGON #360 Art Gallery: Dryad

Heh, maybe the dryad's beauty is a magically projected mental image that only affects a single target. "Dude, why are you making out with that thicket?"

    DRAGON #360 Art Gallery: Dryad

Why must a dryad look like a beautiful human? Why not a comely troglodyte or alluring dwarf?

The Curse of the 100gp Pearl

Or a cleric with the Magic domain.

    . . . while you're at it. . . Fix heavy armor!

Judging from fantasy art, you'll surely agree that for females it's breastplates. (on a side note, why is it a pair of pants, pair of glasses, pair of underpants, but one bra?)

    D&D 4E A humble 4e suggestion

That's a trick question. You don't need a masterwork quiver to make a quiver of what's-her-face. Just as you don't need a masterwork piece of paper to make a scroll, or a masterwork broom to make a flying broom.

    Empowering heal?

I could swear my PHB didn't have the phrase about the random variable. Or (more likely) I had a brain fart.

    Empowering heal?

Is it possible to empower heal or protection from elements or other spells that are "x points/level" etc.? After all, the 10 hitpoints/level from heal is a "variable numeric effect." It's not a "random" effect, but it is variable.

    Who mugged the Sword Sage?

I dislike swordsage as a regular character class, it should be a PrC. A swordsage is someone who has become a supreme swordfighter. I'd say you can't be a first level swordsage any more than you can be a first level archmage.

    An end to scry-buff-teleport?

So a zombie falling off a 100 foot cliff is unharmed? As for lava, realistically speaking (yeah, big mistake!) lava is virtually as dense as stone. Sure, it's a liquid, but it is still stone, so falling into a lava pool wouldn't mean you sink to the bottom; you'd still be resting on the...
