I had just gotten used to him and now he's already gone. I'm wondering if that's the first time that The Doctor has regenerated voluntarily? We've seen him refuse to regenerate, but I can't remember an instance of him willing regeneration.

Yeah, that's always a danger. It's how my group keeps ending up with jobs being dumped on us, by other groups. Three of us have been around for more than 25 years and have picked up a lot, along the way. We've never been officially trained and yet we're expected to do jobs above our pay grade...
