"Promising hints of life on distant planet"

Which, as Morrus said, Fermi. I expect the universe will eventually figure out that intelligence = mistake.

"Promising hints of life on distant planet"

It may also simply be that human style 'intelligent' life isn't common at all. The vast majority of civilizations could be quite content to muck about in their own neighbourhoods, making use of their cometary clouds for minerals, water, etc., practicing conservation and population control.

"Promising hints of life on distant planet"

Every time I see a story like this I think back to the Carl Sagan quote, "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence." That, and all the fuss about someone claiming they had achieved cold fusion a couple of decades back.

    Overrated/Underrated Geek Media

That's something a lot of music is prone to. It all sounds the same, when taken as a whole, but was very different from what almost everyone was doing at the time. The same thing applies to movies and TV shows; what was incredibly progressive, at the time, seems backward now.

I refer to that movie as the one that even Jennifer Connelly's body couldn't save.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

The Theme From Swat actually charted, in Canada. Don't know about the US. An episode of the show also inspired a real life armoured car robbery in Montreal. The Theme from Welcome Back Kotter also charted up here.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

It's pretty telling that they have either 105 or 110 octane gas at the pumps, if I remember correctly, as well.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

The video I linked said 12, but in the span of planning, to pilot, to full show it could have doubled from 6.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Remember the 1972- TV series "Emergency!"? They did some pretty in depth research for that show, which was set in L.A., and the paramedics wore what they wore in real life; the same as other firemen.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Actually cutting sentences in half in order to argue two points, when the sentence was a single point. It was... strange.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Some friends once brought me into a forum, as a "hired gun", to help them out. One of the problematic posters had an annoying habit of going down to the level of picking apart posts, even to the point of using sentence fragments, in order to create points that weren't actually in the original...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Well when people put many separate points into a post, it makes sense to reply to them individually. With that said, the chance that I will actually read a post is inversely proportional to its length.

    Spoilers Daredevil: Born Again (Spoilers)

I always just assume that other heroes are tied up with their own crap. The Avengers are dealing with world ending stuff, at the very least. Spider-Man has his personal issues, etc.. When they have a team-up is when their worlds align.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

One of the most popular Thai restaurants that I know, in Toronto, is named Salad King. It was a salad bar when it was purchased by the current owners. When asked why they didn't change the name, the current owner said, "Sign too expensive." The place is good so everyone has just rolled with it...
