WotC What's your dream release schedule?

On the other hand, I hope that people who want a Darksun book and a Planescape book get one soon, despite my personal belief that nearly every MTG setting is worth its own book before either of them. I like to see people get what they love, even if its not my personal preference. If I were mean...

WotC Which releases do you own?

I bought it when my FLGS marked it 50% off.

D&D 5E (2014) Would you buy a Dark Sun setting book for 5e?

I couldn't vote because you conflate too many things in your poll. I will buy a Dark Sun book because I will enjoy reading it, and I want the monsters, PC options, etc... that will be in the book. However, the fact that I will buy it, does not mean that I love Dark Sun. I don't. I never have...

D&D General What are the "dead settings" of D&D?

Just my opinion, of course. I find it silly. It was obviously based on the alignment chart. It contains planes designed to fill in the gaps on the alignment chart. I'm a voracious reader, and this cosmology seemed so shallow and pathetic compared to those I'd read in fantasy literature. It...

D&D General What are the "dead settings" of D&D?

My loathing for the Great Wheel knows no bounds. I actually drew lines through it in my first AD&D PHB with an inkpen. (I was 14 at the time and was very impulsive). The Great Wheel is the main reason why I couldn't get into Planescape. My hatred of this cosmology is tied to my hatred of...

    D&D 5E (2014) 2020 Release Speculation Thread

I allow the current UA for psionics in my game, and will definitely continue using it if they decide to go back to something like the Mystic.

D&D General What are the "dead settings" of D&D?

If find this amusing as well. I LOATHE the Great Wheel cosmology, and have never used it in any game I've run since 1978. I always use some variation on the Myriad Spheres cosmology. Too much Michael Moorecock in my youth, I suppose.

D&D 5E (2014) In your Years of Gaming, How many Psionic Characters did you See played

I have used psionics in every edition of D&D. OD&D - I used Eldritch Wizardry 1e and 2e - We started with the rules in the DMG, then switched to a Judge's Guild supplement (Masters of the Mind) 3e and 3.5e - We used the Expanded Psionics Handbook 4e - Stopped playing shortly after the...

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D 5e Adventure Reviews

I didn't run it, but as a player Dragon Heist was my favorite of the published 5e editions.

D&D 5E (2014) The case for (and against) a new Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting book

I have always included Lovecraftian awesomeness in my D&D games. That was the most used section in my old 1e Deities and Demigods.

D&D 5E (2014) The case for (and against) a new Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting book

I don't have the first book, but I use 5e Cthulhu more than any other 3rd party supplement.

D&D 5E (2014) The case for (and against) a new Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting book

I don't run anything in the Realms, and I would also buy these products. Not just because I have a pathological need to own it all, but because I enjoy reading them. I also don't run in Wildemount, Ravnica, Midgard or Theros, but I will find useful ideas in all of them.

    D&D 5E (2014) All weapons doing d6?

I always find this statement funny. I play or GM in 10+ games on a rotating basis. Every party has a rogue, and not a single one of them uses a rapier. An extra 2 hp maximum and 1 hp average isn't that big of a deal. Most of the rogues use daggers, short swords or (interestingly enough) whips...

D&D 5E (2014) The case for (and against) a new Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting book

When I run Greyhawk, I always run it from the Folio edition with my own 5e conversion notes. I am not a fan of WOTC doing a new Greyhawk setting because I don't trust them not to "Spell Plague It Up". I DO want them to open up Greyhawk and Mystara for 3rd parties on DMSGUILD. I won't give my...

D&D 5E (2014) Would you let your player choose their magic items they get?

In my games, magic items are like icing on the cake. Players know not to build characters around having a particular magic item. This was one of the hard "NO" things for me in 4e.

Unearthed Arcana Why UA Psionics are never going to work in 5e.

My preference would be for a system with no power points. A psionic power slot system (just like spell slots) works better and doesn't distort the game mechanics in unpredicted ways. A line can added to the description to refer to the DMG optional spell point system, but the core mechanic...

    D&D 5E (2014) Super Deadly 5E?

Intelligent monsters in my game begin using coup de grace as soon as the first character they dropped gets back up due to healing. Smart monsters target healers first so they don't have to play whack-a-mole.

    D&D 5E (2014) How many 5e D&D sessions have you participated in?

I run or play 3 sessions nearly every weekend. My wife and kids (19, 19 and 17) are all players, as is my brother-in-law and shoulda-been-brother.
