Are you tired of being told you hate 4E?

My group isn't switching because we've spent tons of money on 3.5 and we still feel we can wring some more life out of the rules. None of us are 4e haters. We're just frugal.

    Ghostwalk

I received it as a birthday gift a few years ago, and while it's only been used sparingly, I love the concept and the setting. Some of the ghostly feats are really creative and interesting in play.

    D&D 3.x Will you still play 3.5?

We'll be staying with 3.5 because of the tons of money we've invested in the books. There's no 4e hate here, just economics.

    Le Gamers de Femme

Over the years I've been lucky enough to have several women gamers in my group. At one time, in a group of 5 players, 3 were women. There aren't any currently in my game, though. We meet so seldom most players want more game sessions than we're able to provide, and that includes both men and...

Games you thought you'd like and hated and games you thought you'd hate and liked

FASA's Star Trek Roleplaying Game. We wanted to love this game so bad, but it was so clunky and boring to play we never finished any game we started. We created our own homebrew Trek game and liked it much better.

    Greatest Moment While DMing

In a 2e game, I had a ranger encounter an abusive ex lover I pulled from her bio. He did everything he could to get her back, even adventured with the party for awhile. He did try to rough her up once, and was expelled from the party. His parting words were "I'll never stop loving you and we...

    Why won't you switch?

It has nothing to do with edition hate or fear of change. It's all economics. My players and I talked about it at length, and while I'm sure I'll buy the 3 core books for the sake of owning them, we'll not be switching. We've just invested too much money in 3.x to make the switch attractive...

Tell us about your Alt-History game

I'm currently running a game where the great civilizations of the Mesopotamian region never disappeared, but survived into an Iron Age of their own. Great tensions exist between the Egyptian and Babylonian Empires, and the PCs are on a quest to become legends.

    Great Game Quotes

Here are a few we've saved. “See what a bunch of spells and blind panic can accomplish?” Quote of the night, D&D Game 02/23/07. “My eyebrows are with our friend in heaven.” Quote of the night, D&D Game 03/10/07 “… We could just stop thinking and blunder ahead blindly…” Quote of the night...

Monte's 3.75? (A sequal is on its way)

It'll be one more set of rules that will probably never see use in my games, but I'll buy it in case there is something I can salvage. My group has voted we stay with 3.5 and not go with 4e, so it might actually see some use.

    Saddest Song Ever

Man, I love that song. Man... Anyway, my vote for saddest song is "Solitude" by Black Sabbath. Nothing happy at all in that one. Or Solitude Aeturnus' entire first album "Into the Depths of Sorrow". One of my faves.

    10,000 Wild Surges

Several months back, I sent out to those who requested them, two tables of 10,000 wild magic effects each. One was a Word document and the other a .pdf. I've recently lost some files and yes, I neglected to perform a back up. If anyone out there has both these files, please email me directly...

    Avatar: The last airbender campaign?

I'd just use the rules from Mutants and Masterminds regarding elemental control and martial arts.

    What spells do you ban?

Resurrection, True Resurrection, and Reincarnation. They're not banned, but very restricted. They require either a person willingly trade places with the deceased or be sacrificed. Another way would be undertake a quest and perform some heroic deed in the name of the decedent's primary deity.
