My first gaming convention was MidSouth Con in Memphis, Tennessee... 1990. It SUCKED. I didn't go to another Con until GenCon 2004. It ruined my views of conventions that badly.

I don't really have any relationship advice, but I will tell you from my experience in reading threads along this line, be prepared for some good and some not so good advice. And be prepared to be insulted along the way. These threads usually end in tragedy.

The players get to do whatever they want with their deceased PC's sheets. And if anyone ever tried to take my sheet and rip it, that DM would have a large shoe buried deep in a nether region.

You beat me to it. Someone earlier also made a good point about gaming styles. I can find gamers, but when we meet, I'm always immediately turned off by their styles, and I'm sure they feel the same about mine.

Generally a mix between the two. I'm actually pretty darned good at describing a particular scene or encounter, but the characters just use proper English w/out the slang or archaic forms.
