Pathfinder 1E Furious Finish ... or not?

Quote from the SRD (emphasis mine): "Benefit: While raging, when you use the Vital Strike feat, you can choose not to roll your damage dice and instead deal damage equal to the maximum roll possible on those damage dice. If you do, your rage immediately ends, and you are fatigued (even if you...

Pathfinder 1E Furious Finish ... or not?

In my opinion: No. Vital strike is good, Furious finish is unnecessary. Sure, you can pull off 10+ damage on the attack, but the investment is just too great. You get fatigued (that means no running or charging) and you end your rage. The -2 AC rage penalty is partially replaced by the -2 dex...

Pathfinder 1E Deadliest energy or attack type in the rules

Forgot about Ki Shout. My wizard had it on the last campaing. It is devastating against enemies with low FORT. Stuns and deals a bunch of hard to prevent DMG. Too bad it's single target.

Pathfinder 1E Deadliest energy or attack type in the rules

Zing! I all seriousness, Force Damage affects everything. All creatures (even incorporeal and ethereal) and other force effects, like wall of force and resilient sphere. Magic missile is a first level spells that ends up dealing 5d4+5 unavoidable, un savevable damage. Only SR stops it.

    Dusk: The World of Carthasana

Mmmm, dind't thought of that, guess that kind of balances things out. I still think you are a little biased against yellow, but whatever. In other news, man, just now I finished reading the classes and I loved what you did. The "5 Magic, 5 Might" class array is pretty solid. The class left...

    Dusk: The World of Carthasana

Well, actually... the caster doesn't loose the spell, she can still prepare it on a higher slot (he can now even use metamagic feats on it) The problem is that, it is not just that simple... Socialism is not just about the group (Capitalism isn't just about the individual, either). There are...

    Dusk: The World of Carthasana

I like your ideas on yellow and black, but your situation seems a bit biased. Socialism (white) is interested in maintaining the status quo while capitalism (violet) is interested in progress? Really? That's weird to me, being a socialist, since I consider that it is just the other way...

    I'm going to NYC!

Ok, update! I’ll be staying in NYC from the 3rd of September to the 12th, probably West Harlem. I’m going to check as many stores suggested here as possible and post some feedback on them! If anyone has a spot on a game for me, send me a PM and we can talk it out. It would mean a lot to me to...

    Threadsplit about rogue sneak attack.

Different damage depending on the situation seems too much book-keeping for a relative small difference.

Pathfinder 1E The dex-based fighter, how does he fare?

Indeed. Goblin Gunslingers shoot you in tha face for obscene DMG. EDIT: They also got a feat on Advanced Race Guide that lets them use firearms on size category larger.

Man, I hope to be able to visit all of them!

Pathfinder 1E The dex-based fighter, how does he fare?

The pointbuy (or lack thereof) you will be using is also a determining factor. If you rolled stats, let us know if you want advice on how to allocate them Lets say you play with pointbuy 20 and pick Elf as a race. Your stats could look something like this: STR 14 (5). For five points, you...

[Playtest 2] Flanking, Combat Advantage and Melee Rogues

The 3rd edition days were strange indeed. Codzillas, Batman Wizards, Shocktroopers and a certain kobold that could obliterate entire planes at lvl 1. BUT, if there was something that I really dig about 3e, was dualer rogues. Dualer rogues got to apply their sneak attack damage on each hit. What...

Why do Halflings get damage bonuses?

I once read somewhere (an article about 4e before the game got released, perhaps?) that stated that WotC was making Halfling systematically "Taller" with each new edition. Their reasoning was that someone that is half the size of a human CANNOT realistically engage in melee combat with a human...

    I'm going to NYC!

Ok, so I'm going to have the chance, This september, to go to the Big Apple, New York City! In my country (Argentina), there are very little comic book shops and specialist gaming stores, so I am super exited. My request to you is, of course, to ask if you could recomend some of these places...

Is a fun “War Campaign” possible? Find out here!

To me this just goes hand in hand. You kill, like, 50 goblins on a fort and then the rest of the tribes gets angry. Suddenly you have 1000 angry goblins chasing after you. So you raise an army and fight back.

Is a fun “War Campaign” possible? Find out here!

The thing is that... it is all more or less the same, you know? A: "Ok, so you stole a valuable position from the enemy, subtract it from their EMS at -20, add that asset to yours (Net gain, +40 EMS)." B: "Ok, so you stole a valuable position from the enemy, add it to your Assets at 40 base...

Is a fun “War Campaign” possible? Find out here!

But those things ARE contemplated under this system. The sword, infantry regiment and dragon are different, because they can give you different special abilities. The dragon might give you a 1xday AOE attack, the infantry regiment might give you some flanking buddies for some fights and the...

Is a fun “War Campaign” possible? Find out here!

I was just thinking about that... Let’s say that the minimum goal is 3k points to win the war. The next "milestone" is at 4k and the final one is at 5k. Each asset gets assigned a percentile table that you roll to see what happens to it after the conflict (this tables will, of course, not be...

Is a fun “War Campaign” possible? Find out here! Hello! I may be running a War Campaign in the upcoming months and I am going to use a method for resolving the conflict similar to Mass Effect 3. For those who weren't lucky enough to play this great game, basically you accumulate "War Assets"...
