D&D General DMs Guild and DriveThruRPG ban AI written works, requires labels for AI generated art

You're right, we shouldn't attempt to do anything because it's already happened. Oh, wait, it hasn't... Well, might as well do nothing since it's already going to happen then I guess. Oh, and since you can see the future, mind getting me the lotto ticket numbers for next week too?

D&D General DMs Guild and DriveThruRPG ban AI written works, requires labels for AI generated art

Why the hell does it always come back to this intellectually dishonest argument. This thread is about AI art. That's why the topic is focusing on artists, not because people don't care about accountants or programmers being replaced and only about artists. Nobody said a voice actor is any...

D&D General Why is "OSR style" D&D Fun For You?

What I like about all the weirdness in the OSR is that it dispels the notion that planar adventures or expeditions into super dangerous places are things left to the mid or endgame. You'll never catch a DCC funnel or level 1 adventure being about fighting rats or warding off bandits, usually...

Just because we should, doesn't mean it's going to happen.

D&D General Why is "OSR style" D&D Fun For You?

The OSR game I like the most (DCC RPG) makes Warriors one of the most fun classes to play without having too many mechanics tied to it. It's the coolest rendition of the martial out there, for me. I like how these games make a lot possible with fewer mechanics.

Oh man, you really got us there. Well, there's no use in trying to solve any problem if we can't solve the biggest problem, everyone let's get back to creating even more problems! Woo, defeatist attitudes!

OSR Is there room in modern gaming for the OSR to bring in new gamers?

There absolutely is enough room for it in modern gaming. Just like there's room for non-D&D RPGs (of which there are so many!) I started with 4e, then moved to 5e, bounced hard off of that, and while I still enjoy the OSR I've settled into the nice little home of DCC RPG while still looking...

D&D General D&D has always been the gateway to other games.

It shouldn't be the only gateway, though. There should be multiple gateways that show people the different things an RPG can be.

WotC may have sent the Pinkertons to a magic leakers home. Update: WotC confirms it and has a response.

I wonder why an organization that's notorious for union busting would be so utterly reviled today, in times when more and more people are unionizing and thinking about giving them a chance?

WotC may have sent the Pinkertons to a magic leakers home. Update: WotC confirms it and has a response.

Love to see people getting upset at others getting angry. You see it every time in these kind of discussions. Well, too bad. You can't control how people feel about businesses being crappy. In fact, people should be getting mad. Without them getting mad, that OGL crap would have moved forward...

Two friends teasing each other with "racist tropes" as YOU yourself said it are still being racist. Sorry, you can't act all shook when I'm using the words you said to describe the racist thing you described, that's all you.
