I'd just leave it as raw damage dealt, also. A critical hit can easily do damage in the 100s in the wrong hands. This is neat because it forces deliberation between various weapons.

Their original system for Deadlands rarely used the d20, I don't see why their new one should be significantly different or even a big deal.
