Bringing about socio-religious change

Hmmm... sounds like a plan. The only problem that I see is that all the heretical groups that are detailed in the setting thus far are of rival religions. He dislikes all of the native religions. Also they are going to need to find someone a bit more influential than a native courtesan...

    Bringing about socio-religious change

Alright one of my PCs is playing a foreigner (from a more typical fantasy continent) to the main continent upon which I am running my campaign, which is based on Ancient India with religions that roughly translate to Buddhism, Hinduism, and Tibetan Buddhism. He has decided that the religion...

    FFG's City Works: Thoughts

I have it! I have a copy of Cityworks and have been reading it over the past week and a half. I am not quite done with it, but if you have any specific questions I am more than willing to answer them. In general I would have to say that it is much more useful if you want to make a city for an...

    Elite gnolls and template class

Well its much, much easier to create regular gnolls than it is to create half-fiend vampire templated abominations, so I can understand their desire to follow this particular avenue. Jesse Dean

[AU] Samsara, the Eternal Cycle (Last edited August 18th, 2003)

Damn These Rooms With No Windows! After nearly two months of bickering, in-fighting, and awkward silences, we were finally united in a singular cause. Why did it have to be picking a fight with the giant? At least the guards were gone, thanks to Anwar. I was a little surprised that the...

[AU] Samsara, the Eternal Cycle (Last edited August 18th, 2003)

Mesios and the Matyanists The giant Jaypreesh still towered in the doorway to the meeting hall, his enormous hammer still at the ready, but for the moment at least he seemed willing to wait as the situation developed. Suddenly left without the squadron of temple guards he had summoned, the...

[AU] Samsara, the Eternal Cycle (Last edited August 18th, 2003)

Naja's Thoughts on the Waiting The guards had left the room, presumably to fetch the Brahmin Evatrya Ellama Visantra. The giant stood in the doorway. Anvar and Sanjay stood between Naja and the doorway defensively; her back was to the corner. This was not how she'd expected her evening to...

    [FFG] Cityworks Questions

I understand. I just would have prefered if the rules were slightly more clear-cut, even with a base distance needed. Otherwise the book is pretty cool. I wish I had had it when my campaign started, and I am almost considering moving my PCs to another city so I can make proper use of the...

    [FFG] Cityworks Questions

Hey, I picked this book up the other day, and have been skimming through it. It looks pretty cool so far but I have noticed some things missing. 1) It mentions the bustling and fading cities both in the text and the tables but it fails to provide entries for them in the city archetypes...

what is your preferred period for d+d games?

I tend to prefer downside. I always like to have it so civilization appears to be strong and powerful but there are little gnawing pieces of chaos that are causing things to slowly disintegrate.

    Magical Medieval Society

How useful is it to someone not building a campaign based on middle ages Europe? i.e. ancient Greece or India.

    AU - first impressions?

You really need the campaign setting. There is about as much setting material in it as there was in the PHB. Of course with two modules coming out, you can probably use those to keep you busy until the campaign setting arrives.

    AU - first impressions?

Hero points are largely optional. Its entirely up to the DM to decide when and where he is giving them out. So if the DM decides he isn't giving them out then they aren't used. There is a .pdf that describes the giant on Monte Cook's web page. The other .pdfs are supposed to be released next...

    AU - first impressions?

Yeah but you would probably need the conversion guide that is coming out with the DM Screen. [B] Well it depends on how much you would want to take from 3.5 and how much from AU.

    AU - first impressions?

You can do any one of the following things with a hero point: 1. Get a +d20 to any one rolled action. 2. If used on an attack roll that would normally hit you can do double damage or cause a called shot effect. 3. He can take a normal rounds actions outside of the initiative sequence 4. He can...

    AU - first impressions?

Re: Combat It appears pretty close to the 3.0 system. It explains attacks of oppurtunity in greater, clearer detail but lacks the diagrams. It also goes through and describes each of the various actions you can perform in detail. In general it looks like that is a general trend for the...
