    WOTC's Iconic Character Novels

All I know is, I'm getting "Oath of Nerull" because Bruce Cordell strongly implied that he wrote it. If I knew who the real authors were on the others, I'd buy them on that basis. Otherwise, I'm not touching them.

    Amazon Sale of DnD Products

Ah, but it's so poisonous to those of us who have one...I'm always tempted to go the Amazon way, but I bravely turn my back on the fat discounts in favor of supporting my little hole-in-the-wall hobby shop. I've been going there for years, and they all know me by name. Amazon just can't beat...

    Sealed Pages in Dragon--Contents inside!

I'd like to see a wall of Helena Bonham-Carters, especially if there was little to no clothing involved. I think I'd even be willing to fund research for a spell like that.

Issue of dragon with martial arts moves generator?

Son of a gun. Thanks...I thought it was a lot older than that.

Issue of dragon with martial arts moves generator?

I remember there being an issue of dragon with a martial arts theme, including a martial arts move name generator and some reviews of classic chinese action movies, but I can't seem to locate it in my collection. Does anyone remember which issue it was?

The Black Company (aka Rawr, the Lady)

Not to chime in as though I know what I'm talking about, of course, but... What about a "Spell Ability" feat that allows you to take levels as a spellcaster (or better yet, cast spells of certain levels), and then a "Potential" feat that allows you a higher maximum than the default, which could...

RPG purchases you know you'll never use

I'm guilty of doing that every once in a while: Aria MIB Amber Elric! Deadlands Asylum Kobolds ate my Baby (and More Things to Kill and Eat) Those are all games I have but don't ever expect to play. Mostly, I just picked them up because the concepts were interesting.

    Pendragon d20?

My apologies for not finding the link earlier--here is the location of Sean's alternate magic system: http://www.seankreynolds.com/rpgfiles/misc/magicsys.html

    BoVD (again)

My local hobby shop owner asked me if I was going to want one, and I told her "Of course! It's by Monte Cook!" She hadn't noticed the author before. She said, "Oh, in that case I'll order extras."

Merged WotC setting search winners/losers thread

Forrester, that totally rules. I love the whole "reverse dungeon" concept, and I don't think I've seen a better way of putting it into play!

Merged WotC setting search winners/losers thread

You know, what happened to the days when publishers wanted only courier 10-pitch, double spaced, with 1-1 1/2 inch margins? It was so much simpler when there was a semi-standard. =P

Merged WotC setting search winners/losers thread

Thanks for the opportunity. Would it be possible for you to be more specific in what you're looking for in the 10-page proposals? As in, are you looking for the same material in the one-pagers, only expanded upon, or are you looking for something else? It would help me a great deal if I had a...

    Discussing problems with D&D/d20 rules...

I'd compare him more to John Wick/Tynes than KK. Usually he's an interesting read, but I don't always like his attitude. Actually, I'd only compare him to Wick in terms of attitude and rhetoric, I guess. His statements are usually much more intelligent than Wick's.

Charity Fundraiser - our own setting search!

I think it would be better to introduce subcategories to the ones WotC has already given us on their template, like one or two questions that expand on the actual items in the template. Of course, I can't come up with a good example offhand...:-/ Finding a way to take what's already been...

    Mood music & FR

Oh, awesome! I love Wendy (aka Walter) Carlos. I have "Tales from Heaven and Hell" on CD, and I occasionally use it in my games.

    Discussing problems with D&D/d20 rules...

This works for me. As much as I may disagree with some of your previous statements (even to the point of thinking they're not reasonable statements to make), I like your approach in this post. I looked at Patrick's encounters document a while ago, and sometime I may check out the HarnMaster...

    Discussing problems with D&D/d20 rules...

One other thing: This is an unpersuasive way to promote your favorite setting and rules: I just started playing Pendragon, and it totally rules! It's so much better than that d20 stuff I used to play, because it's marketed towards adults and not a bunch of immature preteens. It's this great...

    Discussing problems with D&D/d20 rules...

Well, it's two guys, actually. KK and Moebius. Patrick was okay, and if the Harn-related posts had been limited to his input, I might have wanted to check the Harnmaster rules out (although I don't think I'd like the setting much, based on what I've seen so far). As it is, though, they've...

Oh, I agree with you. But I think the elitism and gamer-bashing is even worse.
