I beleive there was an older Dragon mag that had rules about using other creatures for mounts. The rule was that both the rider and the mount had to have the feat. So your Ogre would need Mounted Combat as well.

You might want to invest in a Spiked Chain... Remember, you can not make AoOs with your unarmed strike in the same round you used your Reach weapon in. You can only make AoOs with the same weapon you used to attack with that round.

Exactly. It says you deal damage 'equivalent to an unarmed strike'. If you add +5 damage (from Power Attack) to your unarmed strike (let's assume it is 1d3 damage), then you deal 1d3+Str+5 damage from unarmed strike.

The problem is, the only kind of weapon you can attack with is a Light weapon. And Power Attack does not apply to Light weapons. You can damage your opponent as if you were using an unarmed strike, and Power Attack does apply to that.
