    D&D 5E (2014) Poll: Polymorph Shenanigans

IMO Monk abilities come from mastery of their own bodies, change bodies, no abilities.

    D&D 5E (2014) "My X is underpowered compared to Y." So?

Except their speed and special abilities let them choose and then temporarily disable premium targets the other characters have a MUCH harder time getting to or even drawing a bead on. In a white room when everyone is only 30' away with no obstacles, a monk seems underpowered, against nova-ing...

    D&D 5E Player's Handbook Official Errata

This is the real problem. It is the duty of ALL people at the table, not just the DM to be stewards of game balance. All people at the table are in this together, but far too often players get some notion that only the DM should object to overpowered options and it is wrong for a player to voice...

    D&D 5E (2014) I think a cantrip somewhat cripples the CR 16 marilith

If it organically happens, It's not a big deal, sometimes players just run across effective tactics. BUT if you have players reading the MM trying to metagame tricks like this ahead of time, just rebuild the Marilith with a higher actual AC rather than relying on the Parry defence. Because IIRC...

    D&D 5E Player's Handbook Official Errata

It put the water whip on the same level as the Fist of Unbroken Air as it should be. Bonus casting of anything represents an enormous increase of power.

    D&D 5E (2014) Conditions vs Arcane Ward

Extra effects are not negated by eliminating damage unless the offensive ability specifies that is the case.

Looks like it keeps Rage bonus damage from adding into unarmed strikes.

    D&D 5E Player's Handbook Official Errata

Wizard couldn't copy & learn a cantrip anyways based on the carefully read text of the un-errata'ed PHB. Errata just removes cantrips from all Wizards spellbooks to lessen folks assuming one might be able to copy them.

    D&D 5E Player's Handbook Official Errata

I think the caster has to fire them all at once anyway so that scenario wouldn't happen. I think the last time a caster could hold the missiles in the air was Larry Elmore Cover Basic edition.

    D&D 5E Player's Handbook Official Errata

Looks printer friendly enough to me. To get any friendlier you'd have to copy and paste the text in a word processor and make the text colour light grey.

    D&D 5E (2014) Aerial Combat

Aerial combat isn't worth it in 5E since it was made into one shot rocket tag with the prone / push rules.

D&D 5E (2014) Magic Items found during the game: How do you handle the "oh look, this random dungeon just happens to have that sword my character wanted."

Except the only reason anyone would think they are the 'best weapon' is because a few bits of OPTIONAL rules currently make them numerically optimal.

Why did early editions of D&D rely on Treasure for experience points?

Eyes on the prize! Low HD monsters were worth little XP and were encountered in large numbers, it behooved the party to deal with them quickly (area effect or avoidance) to get to the real prize, the Treasure. 100 bandits were a pittance in XP but their loot could be worthwhile to get to...

    D&D 5E (2014) Potions

I use the 1E version still where an instant potion still 'lingersl for a time for the purposes of the table.

D&D 5E (2014) Potions of spells which require concentration

Ayep. Worth noting that the potion of Flying doesn't mention concentration nor the Fly spell.

D&D 5E (2014) Potions of spells which require concentration

The updated online supplements all have the same text on potions based on concentration spells. http://media.wizards.com/2014/downloads/dnd/HoardDragonQueen_Supplement_PF_v0.3.pdf http://media.wizards.com/2014/downloads/dnd/RiseTiamatSupplementv0.2_Printer.pdf...

D&D 5E (2014) Clerics, Shields, and Spell Casting

Note this does create what some may view as a paradoxical situation where you need a free hand for a divine Verbal and Somatic spell, but for a divine Verbal, Somatic & Material (focus) spell you don't, since your symbol on your shield is doing the Focus & Somatic trick. Not a major deal...

D&D 5E (2014) Potions of spells which require concentration

Just want to mention that later products from Wotc like there Adventures call out that the potions don't require concentration.

Please, they'll decanon the story right after the last issue is printed.

D&D 5E (2014) When to declare sneak attack with mutltiple attacks?

Agree it's roll an attack and choose whether to sneak, not roll all the attacks and pick the crit.
