I think it is pretty safe to buy d20 Modern at the moment, I have not heard of any rumours of a revision yet. Just of of interest, what aspects of d20 Modern do you find 'dorky'?

Ohh tough choice, I grew up with Lou, but the new movie version has a face like steve martin on steroids.

The big question for me and for my old group is where is the incentive to buy 3.5? Club had a vote about whether to upgrade the game to 3.5 and decided against it, they will take another vote in 9 months. In the meantime the SRD is available so they will browse that. This isn't just a WotC...

Iron Throne, hands down. The only D&D based novel I have ever managed to get beyond the first chapter. Dragonlance has never appealed to me., The DL modules killed it for me.

In the d20 Modern chat last weekend (chat log coming soon) Stan! (I think) said that d20 Future was going to be a toolkit add on for d20 Modern to allow you to create just about any futuristic campaign settings.
