    Question on Tactics (Thunderspire Spoilers)

The power was included in this thread exactly as written in the module. As for the height issue, the PC is still in a square adjacent to the monster, and thus eligable for Bull Rush (horizontals, even vertically, are still only one square of movement after all). And yes, there are even large...

    Tempest Fighter Build (lvl2)

The idea I had for my Tempest Fighter was a short sword and a spiked shield. Yes, you lose the +1 shield bonus because Tempest Fighter gives you Two Weapon Defense as a bonus feat, but you also now have the ability to take all of the "Shield Required" powers that let you seriously control your...

    Question on Tactics (Thunderspire Spoilers)

I went ahead and picked my lazy bum up and went to the game room to pick up the book to type out the effects of the power. Infernal Moons Curse Encounter: +13 vs. Fortitude; 2d8+8 poison damage, and the target is held immobilized 5 feet off the ground until the end of Maldrick's next turn...

    Question on Tactics (Thunderspire Spoilers)

At the end of the fights in the Well of Demons, the players enter into a combat with Malderik Scarmaker (At least I think that's his name, I don't have my book open at the moment). Scarmaker has several allies in the fight, and the terrain is riddles with bubbling cauldrons (which are noted as...

    Room Description in RPGs

OD&D Adventurers? If I recall correctly, they were still doing this in Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil. "...but, all of that beautifuly written fluff about the ruined Moathouse aside...the most important thing you see in the courtyard is a Blue Dragon. Roll Initiative."

    Enemies With Magical Weapons

Hmm. Interesting on all three mentions. What about critical hits with magic items, then? Am I the only one that does them as PC's would, or is that a standard?

    Enemies With Magical Weapons

In several encounters in the published modules (Thunderspire, Demon Queen's Enclave), enemies are carrying magical weapons that are listed in their "inventory" and whose bonuses are typically factored into the attack line. However, while the end villain in Demon Queen's Enclave has the weapon...

P1 King of the Trollhaunt Warrens - Fantastic!

The only thing that surprised me as I was flipping through Booklet #1 was the inclusion of a 19th Level Solo Creature. And, he's nowhere in the module. I suppose I just was giddy at the thought of the group running into him at one point (or the new displacer beast that's on the page facing...

    Thunderspire: Ex[eriences?

Now that my group has finished running through the Keep on the Shadowfell (with some minor portions they have missed pushed back and scheduled to make appearances later on), I was curious if anyone has finished with Thunderspire, and had any issues/thoughts/suggestions on how things played out...

    KotS adjustment *spoiler*

Mine went slightly over 3 hours, I think this is just about the standard for your average group of 4th Edition players against a module big-boss. I forsee a similar amount of time at the end of Thunderspire Labrynth. The circle is "bad news" for the players. Kalarel is already quite strong...

    KotS adjustment *spoiler*

Well, it wasn't a TPK. First Note: I decided to change the surviving Barbarian into a third skeletal warrior. Also I was replacing a player last night, as he is no longer able to make game. The cleric was eliminated halfway through the fight (Through fair rolls and tactics mind you, agreed...

    KotS adjustment *spoiler*

Well, they would get a save in the last square to fall prone and prevent the forced movement into hazardous terrain. So there's that much going for them. :) All but one of them are playing the pre-gens still though...so there won't be any emotionally attached hissy fits. As far as climbing...

    KotS adjustment *spoiler*

The Cleric has used his Shield of Faith, the Fighter has used his Brute Strike (against the ghoul in a previous room, IIRC), the Ranger has used Split the Tree, and I /think/ the rogue may have used her Positioning Strike (or whatever the name of the daily is that lets you shift the enemy on a...

    KotS adjustment *spoiler*

I am currently expecting a TPK in tomorrow nights game in this very encounter. The big bad is armed with an additional Human Barbarian thanks to a bull rush down the pit that didn't quite finish him off. Also the party is low on healing surges, under time pressure, and has used a few dailies...

    FRPG - In hand.

There are three (or four, IIRC) paragon paths for Swordmages, just about any of which can be 'bladesingery.' For easy, just say if you're Eladrin or Elven and a Swordmage, you're a bladesinger. I honestly can't think of much that the Swordmage is missing in comparison to the Bladesinger (which...

    Ranger: Beastmaster Build

Even more of a shame they pushed Martial Power back a month, then.

    [KotS] Winterhaven player handouts?

On a similar note, has anyone compiled the errate that Wizards has acknowledged, but not put into the errata sheet? Such as the Hobgoblin's flail damage (1d10+4 instead of 2d6+4), difficulties for skill challenges, and such?

H3 Pyramid of Shadows - I Have It!

He comes equipped with dagger, staff, robes, and ritual book. None magical save the ritual book, with location specific rituals and one each of levels 10, 12, and 15.

H3 Pyramid of Shadows - I Have It!

Well.. All of the shards are minions, and vanish when successfully struck. It shouldn't take too long for the PC's to whittle them down. Though Kari can teleport between them as a minor action. Teleporting to take the place of one, attacking, and then teleporting to the location of another.
