In! I've always wanted to try Paranoia so with my friend the computer's permission please include me for that. I know I'll be too busy come August to run anything. Sigh. --Z

    Obsidian Portal Campaign Forums

Hey all, So I'm building my campaign wiki over at Obsidian Portal and I'm wondering if the forum feature that comes with a paid account is worth it. Anyone using it and have any feedback? -Z

My own "Dr. Horrible's sing-along blog": a musical about my D&D campaign

This concept of musical D&D brings 'let me tell you about my character' to horrific new levels or horror! Seriously, though very cool and happy 40th! I'll be there in November...

Fiend Folio: 30 Years of Flumph

I also laughed a lot harder than most when crab people appeared in South Park!

Fiend Folio: 30 Years of Flumph

Dire corbies? Really? I was on a crab man kick once in a game I ran a long time ago. Go near water, here come the crab men!

Fiend Folio: 30 Years of Flumph

Once we 'defeated' an adherer by sticking ropes to it and tying the other ends to trees. I think we left it there. I guess we were lucky it didn't come back as a reoccurring villain! --Z

Fiend Folio: 30 Years of Flumph

I was just flipping through my FF and I realized it was released in '79. I've probably used or faced 90% of those monsters in that time. Yes, even the lava children. So: anyone ever use the Gorbel? --Z

"Level Up" issue 1 from Goodman

    Oots 648!

It's very simple: When you are evil, you are entitled to the lives and stuff of anyone you can kill. But evil beings are always subject to be killed and looted by anyone stronger than them, because it's not evil to kill and evil creature and take their stuff, it's only evil when they are not...

    D&D Meetup: that went well

I'll update my sig when I get the new date. It was very fun, with some people discussing how they are house ruling the PHB2 and others asking, 'There's a PHB 2?' but everyone enthusiastic about the game.

    D&D Meetup: that went well

Last Saturday was the monthly D&D Meet up here in Boston (well, Cambridge) which is an informal gathering at our FLGS Pandemonium books. My sig has details about what meetup.com is/does, but basically this was for folks looking for a game to get together and see what clicks. Only a few folks...

Joke Names you've never used...but want to.

I've got a concept for a murderous bard named Dalek the Jester. It's all fun until the exterminating begins!

    We almost died ... again!

Fights were everyone is pushed to their last extremity but manage to overcome are the best on both sides of the screen, imo. I hope you guys get a long rest before the next encounter! --Z

Is a more OD&D feel game the natural evolutionary endpoint? Is OD&D actually AD&D?

Can you go home again? I'd be curious to hear more about how a group used to 3.x adapts to an older rules set. I've played in all D&D styles, almost always focusing on the contemporary edition. I got to try Castles and Crusades a while back. One thing that flummoxed me was backstabbing was...
