OK home now- works on the laptop. Trying it on the home PC by clicking on the link I put in this thread- the silverlight countdown has started, it's very slow but further than I usually get. ...and it works. Skill chlleneg completed! Where's my XP? :heh: On a side note- one of the players in...

    DDi CB & Windows 7

Ok here's the latest: it works when I use the google chrome new tab 'most recent sites' link. I bypass the CB launch page and silverlight countdown starts right away and all is well. If I try to go through the default page and click 'launch', it stalls out. I worked in QA for a while. This is...

    DDi CB & Windows 7

I gave up for the night but now I have the laptop on a public network and the CB is working like gangbusters (and yes, I do mean the old TSR 1920's gangland style RPG, in that it's working but not particularly well due to inherent design issues). So it has to be the router, right?

Well now that i have Netflix up maybe I'll watch The Rockford Files and try to stop thinking about this.

Ok Netflix player works fine so I'm guessing it's not silverlight. It also runs on my xp machine that has Norton on it... Man, every WoTC product I've been disappointed in has involved software. Well, 90% of them.

No go in other browers. I am using a router, and it is a home network. I just logged onto my neighbor's wifi to see if that made a difference. Nope. It was working in Chrome, and only chrome. I recently uninstalled Norton 360 and installed Miscrosoft security essentials; that may have killed...

Have tried with with windows firewall shut down, no improvement. Maybe I'll reinstalll the browser.

    DDi CB & Windows 7

Hey all, So I have two PC's running windows 7 and the CB won't work on either one. The pop up window opens, there's a few exchanges between the browser & the site, then nothing. The silverlight countdown never begins. I've cleared cookies and I've reinstalled silverlight, no go so far. It...

    Guilty Admissions...

I am Zephrin the Lost. My screen name is taken from the pregens in the back on B1. A 1/2 orc by that name was a DMPC for me for many years. I am also apparently a stunjelly. As a GM, I - must railroad since I plan months and months ahead and the PC's always end up where I...

What cool things are happening in your campaigns RIGHT NOW!

The crew just stormed a pirate goblin stronghold on an ancient eladrin tomb in the vast reaches of the Thunder Sea. There they completed a ritual that caused The Isle of Dread to worldfall nearby. They are 5th level now; the survivors should be 10th or more when they leave the island, having...

What's so sinister about The Traveler?

Lots of useful stuff here, thanks! I do think I need to be fairly specific about what is expected, as this is a paladin we're talking about, and not one of the Host in general, but the Traveler specifically. Reading this thread I feel that this being is a strong representation of 2nd edition...

What's so sinister about The Traveler?

Hey all, One of my players in our 4e Eberron game has a shifter paladin of the Silver Flame and is considering changing allegiances to The Traveler. I've looked in the setting guides but I'm not sure why this being is one of the Dark Six or why worship of the Traveler would be a secret thing...

Review of Vor Rukoth by Wizards of the Coast

Makes a great Ashtakala! When the PC's in my Eberron game reach paragon, they'll be journeying to the Demon Wastes. This supplement will save me a ton of work in developing the fiend-haunted capitol of that awful place. Thanks for the review- I might not have paid any attention to this product...

Review of The Manor of Deceit by Blackbyrne Publishing

Will do! I think there's quite a bit of opportunity for meta-enjoyment here, as the players are familiar with U1 and will have expectations. They may even believe I'm running that module until they learn that things are very different once inside the mansion.

Review of The Manor of Deceit by Blackbyrne Publishing

My campaign is using Saltmarsh as a home base, and the clues are leading to the old mansion on the hill. This adventure is a perfect fit and although I'll be making a few tweaks, I don't think there's much effort needed to get some great gaming out of this module.

"It's written in some kind of code!"

Lots of great ideas. I think I'm going to go for the skill challenge to perform a ritual that will decipher the writing. Gathering components and other related tasks will allow me to include everyone and success will grant a real feeling of accomplishment, and also that the code was a strong...

Oooh! Skill Challenge to create a ritual!

"It's written in some kind of code!"

The correspondence will only contain information that will entice (and possibly alarm) them, not reveal everything, but I do want the actual breaking to be interesting. Maybe take 10-15 minutes of game time. I'm thinking: History checks (other codes for reference) Arcana checks (to reveal a...

"It's written in some kind of code!"

My players are close to issuing a beat down on a spy. Once this is accomplished, they will capture his correspondence. It's not just an exotic language, it's an actual code. Any suggestions on managing this sort of thing in 4e would be welcome. I see a skill challenge, but wonder if there are...
