From what I heard, it had something to do with a Beholder getting Spontaneously pregnant, barfing up a swarm of baby beholders, which then have to fight for survival. I like reproduction by dream better, myself.

Alternatively, Give out bonuses, but (in the case of armour) drop the rank of the armour so that the armour rarely outdoes the best natural tier already does. A +1 breastplate is about equally effective as studded leather, and with a couple other quirks can still seem like an interesting magic...

Not really; I highly doubt an FRCS is going to be as lavishly detailed as people want it to be, while simultaneously too detailed for those of us that would want to do our own thing and not have Canon Lawyers disputing everything you try to establish.

To be fair it was more the roll20 client and his computer don't get along (doesn't help that they switched to a new webrtc client, which in its beta formed forced use to cut out a session). He's usually *fine* in most other sessions. I'm trying to debug it for next session.
